I hate to break it to you but there is a Solaris version of IE already and it has been around for a few years. I also I think think theres a port to a another unix (HP-UX) but I'm not sure.
I am trying to get StarCraft running according to the HOWTO but the HOWTO is pretty old. I'm wondering if anyone here has a better one. Is it possible to install SC + BW + patches and have everything working all without a windows partition? I don't think it would be but I'm just asking anyway. Thanks.
Theres a good chance I'm wrong but this doesn't seem to be a big deal. I'll admit it is very silly but it is only a trademark. I believe it just means that know one else can market their tennis ball as having the "Smell of Fresh Cut Grass". Other tennis ball companies could actually have balls that smell just like it. Trademarks just protect the consumer from being fooled into buying a different brand than they intended.
The dark side of the moon is the part which always faces away from earth. The dark side and the light side never change so the device would never switch the dark side. The dark side gets light from the sun, we just can't see it. Your point is still valid though since the light side isn't always light.
I found it very weird that they won't let you add DVD-ROM drives because of that. Reading DVD data discs IS supported under linux and it's a legitimate reason people would want a drive.
In my opinion slashdot doesn't censor at all. All the moderation is done by the people, not by the slashdot operators. The pause between posts is to keep people from posting crap. Not archiving -1 posts is because -1 posts tend to not be good so why waste the disk space archiving them? If you want to read everything that is -1 just change your thresh hold to -1, then you can't claim anything is being censored.
In most places crimes commited by juveniles aren't made public. Besides if he were at school and is being expelled, he might not be charged with anything criminal.
Not really, those companies pretty much just bundle the stuff together. They do code some, but most of the stuff they just download from other places. Plus Red Hats get a ton of money from stocks so they don't actually have to make a profit. SuSE makes money because its very popular in Europe. Downloading in Europe can be very expensive and people would rather just buy the OS.
One of the main costs associated with these is bandwidth. In QuakeII, id has nothing to do with online play because people set up their own servers. Battle.net is just a match maker service, once the game is started you disconnect from battle.net and are connected directly to each other. In a massively multiplayer game like this, you're always connected to the main server along with 1000's of other people. That much bandwidth becomes very expensive for the company who runs the service.
Winmodems are made by companies like 3com and Diamond. Windows is made by Microsoft. How would MS have anything to do with whether or not a modem has drivers for linux? If you want to file a law suit for this it'd be against the modem companies, not Microsoft.
It's great that there are 30 ICQ clones, this way everyone can choose which one to use. In Windows there is just one ICQ client. Freedom of choice is why I use linux, I can pick everything I want.
Now my Fallout playing skills will be able to put to use.
I don't see how Google can store web pages locally. Most pages are copyrighted so it wouldn't work out legally.

Uh they can't be true. Hotmail accounts are deleted after 3 months (or is it 4?) of non use.

IANAL but I'm pretty sure a C and D letter has to be snail mail and not e-mail to be a formal legal thingg.

Wine Is Not an Emulator. It replaces windows libraries, it doesn't emulate.
ICANN should terminate networksolutions.com for improper use.
Uh all mp3s come from CDs, if you can find mp3s of a song, someone obviously has a cd somewhere.
Funny but you didn't mention hot grits.

Anyone know why GNOME takes up all my memory? Yes I only have 64 megs, but this seems unreasonable.

Yes it is like the force: It has a light side and a dark side and it holds the universe together.
www.uptimes.net doesn't seem to be loading. Maybe their server went down. ;) (hahaha)

Doom was never on the store shelves, it's only availible by mail order.
If you were really trying to ignore him you would not have posted this.
Not that I like Macs, I'm pretty sure a lot of off-line people have seen/used MacOS.
