If only CD and DVD media were enclosed like a minidisc or floppy disk, their life would increase substantially from the standpoint of the consumer (I don't know about the.gov). I manage to burn the same CD at least 2 times a year from wear and tear on the surface (despite my futile efforts to be careful with them).
make GTA have a jail mode... where instead of respawning if you were busted by the cops then you goto jail and you cant play the game for 30 years to life... but that doesn't sale well i guess... *sigh*
We are constantly redefining what physics is and thus to completly shun real science is ignorant. I know these researchers and scientists are not in the lab tossing around ficticious numbers and what they are finding should be replicated. This is so fundamental about how we progress towards a greater understanding of the universe. But alas it will be up to the underdogs to prove anything (but isn't that the way it always works?). Besides these stories always read better afterwards.
Working for a company that is attempting to manage laptops that were given to every single user (except the janitors) I know the frustrations of tracking and locating these things. If this lives up to what it promises it will help in many regards (asset management, lost, theft, equip. audit reports, etc.). I am curious as to if Pheonix will also implement the anti-theft technology I saw a thread about a while back. Of course this will probably be put on laptops after I am here and I hope so for the guys that take my place (I pity the fool that has to manage the tracking of 6000 laptops worldwide).
