  1. It's state-endorsed murder if, and only if, you presuppose that a fetus is a person. The majority of pro-choice people want to see less abortion... if only we could all work together to reduce abortion. The reason why it's called "pro-choice" is that it's an individual choice, even if you want a person to choose life. People believe that because they believe it reduces harm overall. According to this theory, you reduce abortion by removing the reasons for why someone would pursue an abortion. There is some evidence that this actually works.

  2. How is this marked "Troll"? Some partisan comes along, doesn't like it, and doesn't want to think about it. There ARE differences between the parties. The Dems DO support net neutrality, and the GOP stands against it.

And it would also be like the GOP controlled the entire military, and the military is sword to the President. Not he country. The president. Just like in Nazi Germany.

China has large parts under military occupation, and massive camps full of prisoners of conscious. Like if the GOP rounded up large segments of the population, put them in interment camps, and then harvested their organs for profit.

    It's really a great place.

If you look at the research on this, you find that men are abused more than women, and that when a woman receives abuse, it is more likely to be from another woman. But the facts don't suit the narrative of the poor innocent woman being persecuted by the evil mens. PATHETIC.

  14. Re:No worries... on Net Neutrality Repeal Is Official (cnet.com) · · Score: 1

The interent was under defacto net neutrality since its inception. (Under telecommunications laws, the telecom companies cannot discriminate traffic.) The only thing that happened in 2015 was that the FCC created a guideline. Now that guideline is repealed, we've ALSO repealed the defacto net neutrality that previously existed. We're in a whole new world, where the cable companies are protected from competition by the massive barriers to entry (the cost of laying cable.) To add insult to injury, the tax payer paid for most of the cable that the internet service providers own.

Simple game theory and basic economics predict that the cable companies will abuse their position at about the level of the cost for competitors to enter the market. That's a MASSIVE amount of abuse. And experience from around the world shows that this is indeed the case.

  15. How is this marked insightful. Gee the partisan blinkers are strong. Does anyone seriously believe that the economy turns on a dime when a new president takes over, like it's some sort of sports car? Professional economists are still arguing about the causes and properties of the business cycle, but all ye partisan hacks have all the answers. Perhaps you should publish some journal papers that explain what professionals have been missing in over a century of academic discourse on the issue.

And and idiot could have guessed that ISIS would continue to lose territory in the Levant. Heck, if America were to put boos on the ground, it would have taken weeks, but the previous administration let local coalitions take care of the situation in a slow grind that took years. Isn't that want the American public wanted? Or are you just impressed that the endgame occurred when your favorite politician was in the white house. You know, 'cause you're so smart.

And North Korea is _NOT_ on the verge of denuclearizing. They're just saying their not doing more tests. And North Korea has a long history of saying one thing, and doing another. They were on the verge of abandoning their nuclear program in the 90s too, but it turns out that they were just playing everyone for fools.

And who cares if they're stopping nuclear tests: they already have working nukes. The USA doesn't do nuclear tests either, but that doesn't mean the USA isn't a nuclear power, or on the verge of denuclearizing.

    Serious fantasy land.

  16. Russia has been interfering in US politics for a long time. Their agents pose as white nationalists, black supremacists, feminists... they sow confusion and hatred to weaken the country. It's just an extension of the psyops that they run in their own country to keep their own population complacent while the Russian elite pillage the country. Security researchers take this stuff seriously, because it's cheap and it works: it's democracies Achilles Heal.

  17. How can the Democrats control the FBI investigation? Haven't you noticed who runs all three branches of government? Seriously.

  18. Oh, if the FBI leaked information, then they'd besmirch their reputation, and destroy any chance of pursuing prosecution. It's possible, just possible, that they are professionals, and the conservative media are trying to argue the ref.

  19. Why is it so hard to let the investigation play out, and see what happens in the end?

Indeed. We have, like, seven Benghazi investigations, and the GOP faithful are whining about a single investigation into a foreign power influencing our electoral process. Investigations take time. This has only just begun. I believe that Trump is mostly innocent on the Russia front, but almost certainly guilty of breaking the law in his financial dealings. If he did anything wrong, then the FBI would be wise to wait until after the next presidential election before laying any charges.
