It seems you need "a system means that performs its functions and responds to external, asynchronous events within a specified amount of time". In other words, a real-time OS. Neither Windows nor Linux are real-time OS. There is some patches that aims at making Linux more real-time.
Isn't that exactly what the ppp_deflate and ppp_bsdcomp modules of the Linux kernel are supposed to do (but at the IP level, not HTTP and moreover that is Free) ?
I'm not sure it would be so great. Hardcore gamers change their gfx card every week (well every 6 months) or so. That's not possible with a "all-in-one" motherboard. Unless you add an AGP port.

And you can contribute to climate change itself too. Let's accelerate global warming by using 100% CPU at any time.
Here are some other ditributed computng projects.
Antarctic ? no
Moon ? Mars ?
I personally don't use a window manager when booting Knoppix. It takes too much time to load. boot: knoppix 2

According to this site it's a bug in the F-16 autopilot software.
$man 3 argument

Something like that ?
I can't access the links but it reminds me of a picture.
For that occasion, the US army decided to use their new secret weapon: Slashdotting.
WTF ? I'm currently running a two Pentium (90 and 133 MHz) and a Pentium II. Who needs to upgrade ? Windows users ? :p
That depend the OS you run...
you probably mean infrasound
Doesn't number of braille dots depend of the "screen" resolution ? Those with big screen have to pay more.
No that's IPSwitch and Plesk who added the red hat. They are gonna be sued unless they pay the license.
If that was the case, it would be auth_guy.bmp :op
