  1. Re:Seriously, no auto-update? on Managing Mac OS Updates in an Enterprise? · · Score: 1

You can have it install automatically in the background, but it would only install more crucial updates, opposed to all updates.

  2. 300W? on Silverstone ST30NF 300W Silent PSU reviewed · · Score: 4, Insightful

Is this even applicable with high end systems today? I personally run a CPU at 3.5GHZ, have an ATI 9800XT, a DVD burner, a DVD player, multiple HDDs, etc. I just can't see a 300W power supply working for that type of application. Maybe for a low end system, but at that point you're not going to pay 150 bucks for a PSU in a low end system.

Am I the only one who has doubts in the way that Wal-Mart runs their tech department? The junk they sell is probably just malfunctioning due to user error :P

  5. Re:Technology Changes, and so do preferences.. on Video iPod Screen Test · · Score: 1

I don't think that the article was really knocking the idea of the G5 iPod, just that it wasn't practical to view movies. It's more of an informative statement. Really though, the whole reason they did it opposed to having a bigger device with a larger screen was to test the waters and see what kind of market they can build off of it. Now, if their TV shows and music video sales are high, they can safely release an iPod more dedicated to playing videos, with a much larger screen, etc. It's kind of similar to what they've done with the ROKR phone. Just testing the waters with it :D

I agree, it's not. It seems that way too many people are getting fed up with the "inconvenience" of having to prove that they are who they claim to be. But truthfully, a lot ((Notice I didn't say all =P)) of the methods really do help keep identity theft down, and they are there to PROTECT THE PERSON. The way that so many people see it though, is that it's there for no apparent reason, and it just is a hassle. They would rather not have the 5 seconds extra going to the bank or purchasing an item, so they could go watch TV instead.

Nothing at all to do with the new iPod. This isn't even made by Sony, so that's just a silly thing to say! p.s. Everyone stop calling it the "video iPod"! It's just the new iPod. No fancy name to go with it.

That was the exact point I was going to make. You can download any songs you want for free, and yet Apple and iTunes seem to have a pretty good thing going for them ;) Just because you can download TV Shows for free, or rip them from your TV, Apple will still have a good thing going for them.

I agree completely... I'm a fan of simple. I don't need a huge amount of features to keep track of where I need to be and when. iCal does this perfectly, along with having great search options to also help keep track.

  12. Re:Intresting... on Longhorn Preview · · Score: 1

The only thing that Longhorn is is Windows attempt to try and catch up to all the other OSes out there that are better. It's *trying* to become more stable, but I'll hold my breath on that one. It's creating easier searching, but Tiger is doing that. It's providing file previews, woopty doo, multiple other OSes can do that. Nothing here is innovative, new, or otherwise. It's exactly what everyone else does, except needing a lot more RAM and CPU power.

  13. Re:World of Warcraft : Not just casual game-play on Doom Forecasted for World of Warcraft · · Score: 1

Exactly, everyone is saying that WoW has no end-game content. New stuff is being developed constantly. Just the other day a new patch was out with more end-game content and new UI enhancements. Within the next bit they'll have a new Honor System for benefitting those who participate in PvP, Battlegrounds which is a huge battle between Alliance and Horde which involved warfare along with quests to benefit each side, and also Hero Classes which will provide even more to do and also increase diversity of the players.
