or does anyone else see Cthulhu looking out at them from this picture...
Come to think about it I see Cthulhu looking at me from most pictures... oh there he is now...oh my god!! he's everywhere!!!
Yeah sure...after 5 years with a heap of cash and no future, they'd probably have to widen the seats to squeeze your big fat arse in and add extra fuel to lift your soft drug filled body off the launch pad.
Accoring to wikipedia all other natural satellites in the solar system are called moons (NB. no capitalisation).
There are even moons associated with asteroids. So it seems that the definition of a moon is any natural satellite orbiting a body that orbits the Sun. (A second order planet as it were.)
...first inner moons of Uranus discovered from an Earth-based telescope in more than 50 years.
Is Hubble considered an Earth-based telescope somehow? I'm kind of confused. Can anyone explain this?
I think this is referring to that fact that Hubble is bound to the Earth ie. not mobile and flying through the solar system like the Voyager probe etc.
The one problem (well one of the problems) with the Loch Ness story is that there is barely enough nutrients in the Loch to feed a school of salmon all year round let alone a family of huge predators that needs to eat those salmon.
And given that this thing (if it is a plesiosaur) needs to breath - I would expect a lot more frightened fishermen when it sticks its head out of the water right next to their boat.

It easy : 100% of light that gets converted to electricity produced by the solar cell for use in the build...viola 100% efficiency.
Pity we have to ditch thermodynamics to have these nice pretty buildings.
For gods sake get a grip... they use guns and horses in Darfor because thats all they can afford and they work plenty well enough.

Maybe they mistakenly put the Sean Penn AI into that one.
Ok..so your grandfather might be off limits but what about his grandfather?? huh? ...bet they din't think of that one!!!.oh wait...
You'd think regular /. poster would know how to include an URL so you can click on it

Someone had to say it!
How about if they were powered by balloons and polyester cardigans.

Really?
Pluto is smaller than seven of the solar system's moon according to here( Moon, Io, Europa, Ganymede, Callisto, Titan and Triton) and its a planet.

Okay,
so this thing is made up of small tubes.
Has anyone thought of the consequences of anchoring this thing in the middle of the Pacific ocean??
Can anyone spell capilliary action or syphon??
You fools!!! You'd have all of these tiny tubes sucking the world's oceans dry and spewing them out into space!!!
I'm off to start stocking piling bottled water, before it too late.
Paint it blue?
I'd probably be more concerned about all of the junk that is whizzing around the planet above 100,000 ft.
