there has been linux support for TCPA at least as far back as 2003 Slashdot article here which so far is infinitely longer than windows has supported it. it seems by the time Microsoft gets around to trying to use TCPA for evil linux will already be established as an effective Trusted platform.
remember the point of TCPA is not to make it impossible to run unsigned code, but rather to prove to remote computers or local processes that what you claim you are doing is actually what you are doing. for example you could use TCPA to make sure that bots don't harvest email addresses from DNS records by providing a TCPA enabled java applet which does the lookup and protects it memory from snooping all the way down to the hardware level.
TCPA has the potential for evil, but so does any general purpose computer or any other device which can be modified to perform functions the user desires.
Yes TCPA will make it harder to crack DRM'd media, but it could also be used to enforce the GPL. source code provided in a special package which would only allow itself by compilers which are trusted to package the binary and source code together in such a way that they cannot be separated. the cost would be significant increases in the size of GPL software distributions since every package would always carry it's source code along with it. there could also be a function where a TCPA enforced one-way install would encypt the binary for local use only and stip away the source files in order to save disk space on a local system.
overall my point is that TCPA is a tool and like any other tool it should not be rejected just because it can be used for evil.
nobody would be using a mac mini for design work, the mac mini is slow and unresponsive. it is something good to get for your mom or dad so they aren't calling you every 3 weeks asking you to fix their computer.
the fact you don't like it does not authorize you to use a component of their platforms with different hardware.
True, the fact that you paid for OSX gives you the right to use it in any non-infringing manner, you can run it on a mac, you can run it on a dell, you can run it in an emulator, so long as you aren't making illegal copies or decompiling it and telling people what you found you can do what you want.
at the same time Apple has the right to do their best to make it impossible to run OSX on anyhting other than Mac hardware.
a driver not wearing a seatbelt is more likely to lose control during emergency situations due to being flung away from the controls of the car. Seatbelts required for anyone who is not the driver and is 18 or older is simply creeping authoritarianism.
ok then, he is down to having to rip 150 CD's, not bad and there are other russian mp3 sites among them all he should be able to get his need-to-rip list down to 10-20
my father didn't want my to fix the color levels on his TV even though i could show him how badly overblown they were because the solid colors in his DVR menu were bleeding all over the place, he insisted that there is nothing wrong with that and he likes it that way
why is it my problem if John "monster cables" expert has to pay through the nose for high end stuff and i don't? if you like actualhigh quality expect to pay more because high quality parts and processors are more expensive to do than cheap parts and clever tricks to mask the effects of cheap parts to the untrained eye.
those inside chaina accessing this information know full well the potential consequences of breaking censorship laws, the do so as a heroic act of defiance against an opressive regime.
encrypted traffic on 80 would be easy to sniff and block, by putting it on a commonly used port for secure traffic it severely limits the ability to filter unless china wants to spend a great deal more money making either a whitelist or blacklist of hosts they will allow outgoing on 443
Nintendo stopped censoring with the creation of ESRB ratings, their reason for censorship was not for some greater moral cause, but rather so parents could be confident that they were buying something that would not be a seriously bad influence on their kids when buying games.
the ESRB ratings gave that info to parents and so Nintendo did not need to continue to restrict content.

Have you looked at inferno?
why punch cards of course, what else would you use to store your code?
can it rip to an open format or is it limited to protected wma's?

sounds like a FCC regulatory violation if that microwave is throwing off enough to distort a monitor.
simulated violence is more exciting because it can be more over the top, huge farking explosions and 20 minutes of constant back and forth gunfire.
if your hooker has worms she is probably already dead.... then again you probably already knew that and paid extra for the service.
