    this is MUCH worse than a network worm.

    worms are pretty easy to seal out with a firewall and are easally patched. this exploit allows all sorts of local user exploits in a corporate environment. it also so far has been able to fly through hardware and software firewalls of all shapes and sizes.

    vista isn't enforcing region codes, in fact that is exactly what this decision does, supporting RPC1 would mean vista does enforce region codes, RPC2 leaves region codes up to the drive to enforce or not enforce

    the transfer does not come from pollen but it can happen, viruses are capable of picking up genes in one species and moving them to another.

    Not true. A "great crisis" is not necessary for evolution at all. It also happens when hot chicks hang out with guys like me and avoid the likes of you.

    allowing usable schematics allows single inventors to patent things like industrial processes, which may need 10 million dollars to build

    what we need to do is go back to requiring a reference implementation. you wouldn't have to actually build it, but you would have to provide plans that COULD be used to build it using only current technology.

    in ten years he will have spent all his million dollars rying to get his internet ad firm off the ground and realize after it's gone that his idea was just randomly lucky, like the first person to sell a ghost in a jar on ebay or the first hundred or so people to sign up for a free ipod/plasma tv/ mac mini
