    because of course no cracker would ever then go and "load up" a targeted program into their own debugger and crack it from there, the only way to stop cracking is to make all executed code have a cert from MS, and that will never happen, The program's "contents" would actually be controlled by the debugger and thus just as open as ever, just makes cracking debugger tools a little more complex (needs to be able to pass system calls along and return the system response correctly)

    well this must be a different Sony 'cause all the stuff sold by Sony in the states is Shit, first gen PS2's with a faulty laser, really wtf? optical disk lasers have been around for what? 20 years now and they fuck it up, sony DVD players that randomly select media to fail on, CDRW VCD but not CDR VCD, DVD+R(W) but not DVD-R(W). Cheap-ass white westinghouse Kmart portable CD player outlasting Sony Portables. AND THEY STILL DON'T HAVE A FUCKING DISC RELEASE, is it really that hard to come up with a functionally similar but different enough to avoit patent issues equivilant to the Panasonic/ Nintendo GCN Disc relese button, i have actually forgotten how much or a pain in the ass taking a cd out of a portable can be one handed due to that little button

    Actually Rayovac already sells 15 minute NIMH "AA" batteries for use in digital cameras and stuff like that. The charger has a fan to keep the batteries from overheating

    If you want to cut down on firefoo memory usage don't use themes, i was able to take quite a few megs off it's footprint by using the default theme(16 megs on initial loading), I also believe that it is more stable with the default theme... or more accurately, can become crazy when using a borked theme.

    or you could just NAT yourself while you patch and not have to spend $10 every time you want to reinstall a system, assuming you reinstall 5 systems with enough time between that the old patch CD isn't good enough the NAT is worth the money even if you don't use it except when installing/reinstalling windows

    you mean the ones that take a week for a crack to come out for instead of a day? anti-piracy code is worthless appeasement of PHB's, Please let me know what software runs your decryption wrapper every time it is executed so i can avoid the wast of CPU resources, SOFTWARE PIRACY IS IMPOSSIBLE TO PREVENT IN A STAND-ALONE APP. The only programs that are tough to pirate are apps that connect to a server suchas online games (UT2Kx, Everquest, Starcraft, etc) but even then you get people running pirate servers. If you want people to pay for your software either provide a benefit for doing so (quality support, online play) or make the price low enough that people will see it as worthwhile to get a legit copy.
