Although you'll get made fun of for not knowing everything there is, qmailrocks.org offers fairly simple instructions on setting up qmail with ClamAV and Spamassassin.
If you know nothing about mail you can learn enough in a few days to get qmail up and running. The mail list and forums are highly active and full of people willing to help you.

He's coming... he's coming. (insert random conspiracy theory about God, terrorists, aliens, UFO's, Roswell and JFK here)
What's the problem with getting people interested in CS turned off by assembly language? Those individuals are most likely the students taking the major because back in the 90's they heard there was "big money in computers." They're 50% of the people bitching about not having jobs because they never cared enough about computers and how they work to get the best understanding of them.
Now I expect to hear complaints from people saying "I don't have a job, and I know [x], [y], AND [z]." I'm not talking about you.
At my school I watched the students who had no interest in computer or electronics drop like flies as we took basic classes in logic gates, digital circuitry analysis, etc. I was happy to see these students leave because they were not only wasting their time, but my time any money as well by asking their foolish questions. These were the students who complained, "But why do we need to know this? We won't use this in industry."
Perhaps you won't use much Assembly in industry, but as stated above, it sure as hell will make you a better programmer and a worth-while employee.
I hear that Apple employees *do* get discounts on (certain?) products for the Christmas break. My brothers friends dad(*breath*) supposedly works for Apple in some way and is able to get a discount which has been *cough* offered to my brother, although I'm sure it's against Apple's rules and regulations.
So, if you can find someone who works for Apple, in some way that is able to get this discount, I was told an iPod is like $50 cheaper, which is nice, as well as an eMac for something around $650.
I wouldn't be able to tell you were to find someone that works for Apple, or one that is willing to "break" the rules, but it's one way I've heard.
Good luck.

Apparently you have to spell feces correctly to have been to Lindon?
I find it quite interesting how you can correct someones spelling errors while making your own. "Feces", used occasionally, allowable to mispell. "You're", used constantly, just fucking stupid to misuse. No wonder you cowared behind an annonymous post, you probably spent 10 minutes looking up the correct spelling of 'feces' but forgot how to use your/you're.
When the goatse guy goes offline, we'll now the end has come.

Apparently you've never been to Lindon, Utah. Lindon is just one big permeating stink of animal feeces. Why do you think SCO throws so much around? They've got *MORE* than enough to spare!
Sega didn't come up with the game, "Crazy Taxi," I thought the acid dropping hippie taxi drivers of the 60's had come up with that game... it seemed like taxi drivers IRL still play it late at night. Haven't you seen "Confession of a Taxi Cab Driver?"
It's amazing how McBride can continuously attack the GPL and open source. Yet in the back of my mind all I can think is, "Caldera Linux... Caldera Linux..."
If McBride is so against the GPL, then why did he agree to take the CEO position of a company with it's foundations built upon everything he attacks?

In the past 20 years, the Free Software Foundation and others in the Open Source software movement have set out to actively and intentionally undermine the U.S. and European systems of copyrights and patents."
Funny how he forgets that for a good couple of those 20 years, the company he now leads was a part of the Open Source software movement he despises.
"Yes your honor, we would like to sue IBM for being more sucessful with open source than we were. We hate it because we lost all our money in it."
Back in beginning months these stories really made me angry, now it's my weekly/. humor!
I've been using MyRealBox for 3+ years now... back when it first became public. It's wonderful and over the years has added more and more features. Since it is a "beta" for Novell's NIMs project(/client?), you get some very great features.
As said above, POP3, IMAP, 10MB, no ad's. There's a calander which is very helpful and will also email you a message on a certain day/time for a reminder(if you wish). The address book, which most/all services implement, has a nice look, feel, and offers many fields for comments, etc.
The options are fantastic. How many webmail services let you change the color scheme? I'd imagine with some effort you could get it to look like/.! Time zone configurable and many languages supported(I just counted 27).
User Proxy, I have found excellent. You are able to share folders and account with read only acces, or Read/write/delete access to other myrealbox.com users.
I have found the "rules" option very helpful in avoiding SPAM and unwanted emails.
