Sorry if I'm a total N00b here, but dammnit, just got DSL and am happier than a pig in a puddle of manure about it, after several years of dialup. Just exactly what is the problem ?
Are they going to charge me even more than I'm already paying??
Is that asshole Bill Gates behind this somehow ?/inquiring minds want to know
I guess I'm a "zealot" or whatever term your masters in Seattle
have ordered you to call me.
Don't really give a rat's ass
Windows free since 2003/Slackware Current// No worries
You Sir/Madam hit the proverbial nail on the head with your comment. But back to the topic:
"Death penalty for hackers"
Unfortunately, the media has seized the term, and distorted its true meaning. Script kiddies, crackers
and all sort of other pondscum are now "hackers"
Wrong answer. A real "hacker" is someone who looks at his/her system, (or a software program), sees something that could be improved and actually does something about it from a programming point of view, rather than wait for someone else to do it for them, looks for security vulnerabilities, corrects them and alerts others to the problem, etc. The asshole virus writers etc. IMHO, should be publically flogged and have their internet access denied for life, but the death penalty?
That's ridiculous./.
"These people" could care less about the privacy rights of their "customers" or anything else. Their only motivation is profit. The solution to this is IMHO,simple (Draconian?)
If you misuse/ lose custody of other people's personal data, you get life in prison at hard labor.
This is a serious matter, dammnit! Some nitwit / corporation, etc. screws around with your data and the consequences for you as an individual can be devastating (identity theft, incorrect credit reports, ad nauseum) Enough of this sh**. Hold these people accountable.
Unfortunately, it's true. And these folks do the rest of us a disservice, with their wild eyed zealotry, etc. I use Linux exclusively, for the simple reason that I just don't like Windows, period
Never did from its inception, worked with it up until they basically emasculated the command line.
Bottom line is, you like Linux? Great, use it and STFU already. You like Windows? Great, use it and
STFU already.
How about a small gasoline motor (lawnmower etc) to run an automotive alternator then connecting the alternator to a power inverter? These items would be cheap, and it should provide enough current.
My view of this whole issue is that SCO etc. are just opportunists. I agree with you that buying them out is a mistake. They don't have a leg to stand on anyway, and fearing or succumbing to them is a huge mistake.
you are absolutely correct. However media hype and public hysteria have painted hackers (originally just people with an intense curiosity of computing)
with the same brush as the criminals and vandals who, with limited skills (script kiddies are an example) relish in causing damage.
Your premise of "my line of reasoing" is based on your three questions. Well, here is a reality check:
No one really gives a rat's rectum what you think and I will bet YOU are the one with the "painful existence"
Not me. "FIFI" my blowup companions mouth is kept occupied with other activities. No room for a cellphone

Rather laugh with the sinners than cry with the saints anyway, so there. BTW, why in the hell does anybody still use IE ?

Best wishes for a full and speedy recovery.

Open up the cases, seal the room and run an ozone generator for 24 hours. Ozone generators can get rid of any odor permanently.
