I'm sick of assholes saying where's the proof when it's right in front of your face. And after all that's been said and done... you shouldn't give them the benefit of the doubt. Same goes for all rightist assholes who hide behind a fake veneer of nuntrality or virtue.
You're an idiot. People like you are why the computer industry is set back by at least 10 years. You let Microsoft do whatever they want. "Proof? Evidence? I should be put to death to preserve the intelligence of the human race?" Your IP should be tracked, I bet it leads straight to Microsoft... and you should be banned from/.
Perspective: people are surprised by all the security updates that Apple releases.
Fact: By default, NONE of the exploitable holes are available by DEFAULT out of the box. There are ZERO services running, so no remote vulnerabilities....which is a ton more secure than a Windows PC out of the box (and some linux boxes). The only time the Mac OS X system can be compromised is if the exploitable services are turned on. Most of these are exploits to open-source software such as Apache, OpenSSL, CUPS. Recently, AFS was patched and that isn't even running when you turn on a Mac.
I think this sums up the arguement nicely.... so why were people still ranting about BS after 47Ronin posted it?
No, that paper is a basically a bunch of mis-leading propaganda designed to obfuscate the truth that TCPA exists solely for the purpose enabling Palladium and Palladium type DRM and user controlling mechanisms.
I don't think you read the IBM paper carefully enough. The TCPA implementation in IBM's laptops is completely unrelated to the most insidious forms of trusted computing. IBM's chip serves as a repository for encryption keys. It does not provide any kind of "rights management" features.
This is different from Microsoft's Next Generation Secure Computing Base (NGSCB -- formly known as Palladium), or the Trusted Computing Initiative (formerly known as TCPA Stage 2 -- hence the confusion). This project is the one which should cause us all concern. Program binaries are stored in encrypted form, are run in secure memory areas, and have their own secure storage area on the hard drive. In other words, programs can do whatever they want without you knowing.
Let's get our terminology straight, folks. We can't do anything about DRM if we're attacking the wrong products!
This is unbelievable. My mind is blown to see Google on this list as well. Have they sold out, now!? This Bill is about SPYWARE! What does spyware have to do with ads? Unless a company purposely wants to fool a user into showing ads this bill shouldn't affect those comapnies in any way. They just need to get permission. What's the problem? This is unbelievable... opposing an anti-spyware bill. If that's not the most blatantly obvious sack of bullcrap anyone's ever seen, I don't know what is. It's crap like this that makes me glad the nukes will fall soon.
Do you want a plate of some of the best quality sushi for like $10 or do you want the shit that just cam eout of my dog's ass for $50. Many companies choose the shit believe it or not.
This is ridiculous. This guy was obviously paid by Microsoft in some way or another. Anyone who knows anything about OSS can tell you that OSS authors, well those of popular OSS projects, have the intent of functionality and stability. There is no agenda other than to make a good product. What? You think the mozilla team is spying on us right now? Of course not. Anyways, if you trust Microsoft over anything then you might as well kill yourself right now.
idiots... urgh... just leave the god damn name. Get it confused with what? What else is named Firebird? Who cares anyways. People aren't stupid, they can tell the difference. Jesus Christ. Firefox and Thunderbird. REAL consistent. *slap forehead*

Shut the fuck up... he deserved to be attacked for his stupidity... oh, now it's flamebait. Great, let us all flame him. He deserves it. Besides, the seemingly "obvious" truth about how shitty Windows is never be stated too many times. If not for slashdotters, then anyone who happens to come across the write-up.
Get a life pal. What's the hell is wrong with you people!? You're a fucken retard if you're not going to take him seriousily because of his "name-calling". Ulanoff is clearly an idiot. He deserves to be called names. Besides, he wasn't even name calling. He said Ulanoff was whining, etc. He didn't call him any names. Can't you just reveal in the greatness of the rebuttal instead of looking at something wrong with it you pretentious assholes. Eat dicks... all of you.
Just the fact that OSX is Unix based automaticlaly makes it more secure you fuckhead. Kill yourself to preserve the intelligence of the human race if you think Windows is just as good as OSX. Mother of god, some people really deserve to die for stupidity. Why would anyone be an advocate of Windows anyways? Just because you use a PC? I hate Microsoft with all my heart and the only machines I've ever used were PCs. Uh oh, 1 OSX flaw vs a million more serious Windows flaws and counting. Eat a dick asshole.
Didn't CT'd have an article where OGG was promoting the format by comparing OGG 64KB with a 128KB MP3 or something? That's kinda pushing it, but in any case, you don't have to go as high a bitrate with OGG to get the same quality of sound when compared with MP3.
oops... I wasn't thinking... ya, ogg would be bigger than an mp3 of equal bitrate VBR. Still, OGG sounds better, saves space... especially if you have a small digital music player, like a 128MB or something, than OGG would come in handy.
I keep reading posts about people who say that OGG files are larger in file size than MP3s. In my experiences that it totally not true otherwise the whole purpose ot OGG would seem to be defied altogether, right? I usually encode at -q 4. That's 128KB VBR by default. Now there's no way a 128 VBR is going to be bigger than a 128KB CBR, right? I've seen the file sizes for myself and -q 4 OGG is always smaller than a 128KB MP3. To add insult to injury, the OGG sounds as if it was encoded in around the 160-170KB range in MP3 format. So in my experiences OGG files are smaller and sound better than MP3's. I don't know why others aren't getting the same results. To me, OGG is the greatest thing ever. It's awesome and free. If that doesn't rock I dunno what does. And why more people aren't using OGG? Beats the crap out of me.
What's the capacity of HD-DVD disks? Will they use red-ray? I thought the Toshiba/NEC standard was blue-ray but smaller in capacity than the initial blue-ray proposed disks.
No, you're right, but I don't see why we shouldn't be just as concerned about rigged elections. It's not necessarily us. It's not me. And it doesn't seem to be you. Anyone can tell you. I mean, we all know the KKK = the NRA, etc... ever since the beginning of the United States of America the mindset of these people, the ones in power and the ones who support them, hasn't changed much. Psychosis in an epidemic in "America". It'll take the whole world with it. 2012.

Can you editors make sure the bloody post has correct grammer and spelling. What the hell post was that? A god damn disgrace.

As far as I know Fairlight and other similar groups are crackers. Do they actually do any piracy? I thought they just cracked games and stuff.
I can't wait for the U.S to be nuked... for all this capitalist pigism to just go away.

I can't wait until the nukes start to fall... If Bill Gates survives, I'll hunt him down like an animal and burn him alive.

Why would you want 1 window per file? It's better to have them all on 1 window.
