The community is bar none the best on their Message Board. Plenty of dedicated pro's will answer your questions quickly.
Anyone that mocks Gentoo pretty much just doesn't understand why it is so good. Yes compiling can take a long time for certain packages, but it is for a good reason. It is a complete streamlined install.
Gentoo forces you to understand linux, whereas many other distro's allow you to get by with minimal understanding of how linux operates.
I have used linux for approx 5 years, but I have learned 10x more about linux using Gentoo than all the previous time combined.
I bought 2 160 Harddrives a while back and NEVER got my Rebate from them.
I bought a 500 dollar IPod and they gave me shit when I took it in because it was acting up 2 months later. And I PAID for their warranty they make money off of.
Now they want to punish people cause they are smart and only buy during sales? Lmfao, I would love to see a nation wide boycott that dropped their stock and sales to nothing.
