Stating the obvious here, but if I uninstalled all versions/instances of Flash from my Win 7 x64 system I should be pretty safe from at least this one, or should I? Note at the bottom: Now the only flash player that I have right now is the pepper flash version installed by/with Chrome. Oh, and just in case, this is my workstation - hence running Windows... mandated by company. I have couple of VMs to work in Linux/FreeBSD etc. but the main business desktop needs to be Windows.

  5. Burn it... on Ask Slashdot: Dealing With Service Providers When You're an IT Pro? · · Score: 1

It's broken already; you're technically savvy; you should know what to do. I wouldn't put 120 AC on the DC modem/router power in plug, but you know where I'm going; just end its suffering; it's already dying. Maybe a bad firmware flash, or whatever... figure it out, so there is no fireworks involved. Then get it replaced. Repeat if required. It may be a rather nefarious way of getting things done, but... the end in this case justifies the means. You'll be a happy camper, the ISP will get to keep their customer. Why in the first place you wouldn't have your own modem? DSL modems go for $30 - $40 recently. I've seen cable ones dropping in price too. Buy your own separate router when you're at it. Unless you're company does not allow external modems.

The only actual usage so far is: - fitness crowd - cool people that buy anything new that comes out for bragging rights - gifts for people who already have everything else

Yep.. once again, IDE-to-USB adapter: https://www.google.ca/?#q=ide+... Just check the images on Google to see if there is a connector that matches the connector on the back of the hard drive. I remember that in some older laptops they have used the plug-in converters which may look like a part of the disk, but you can actually pull them off to get to the actual IDE connector. BTW: Order the universal(IDE/SATA)-to-USB converter so you can use it for other purposes in the future. Good luck!

Now don't get me wrong! I don't say that piracy is communism! This is the furthest from the truth. Northern America is adopting "liberal" form of communism. Restricting people in most areas of their life - isn't it a symptom of communism? As we have seen in Russia and Eastern Europe communism was eventually thrown out the window. The system just does not work. On the other hand Free Enterprise should allow people to grow in a relative freedom (different from the "red freedom" offered in the communism - free to think as government wants you to do). So... as long as we stay away from totalitarian state model, public domain should survive and live long. And even if we get stuck with the big brother overlooking our activities.. things will go underground.
