I do think this was deliberate. Most people don't need a 40GB iPod but if you can find a way to force them to upgrade from their old iPod, you have created a new business model...
1. Buy iPod 2. ??? 3. Profit!!! Old iPod does not work. You need to buy a new one.
I hate to speculate but.......
Going with IBM would make Intel and AMD quite unhappy. I predict Intel or AMD will make an offer Microsoft cannot refuse. Their business model looks something like this...
1. Create FUD by announcing partnership with IBM. CPU prices drop for Microsoft naturally.
2. ?
3. Yes. Profit!!!!!
My senior year in high school showed me the relationship between schools and companies.
Our school district was hurting for money like most school districts were. The high school principal offered exclusive selling rights to Coca-Cola and Pepsi. We had a survey in school on which we would prefer. Something like 78% wanted Pepsi. Pepsi offered the district $50,000 for exclusive rights for one year. Coke offered $55,000. The district went with Coke.
Many things at our school such as scoreboards were donated by Pepsi. They of course had the Pepsi logo. When they were donated there was a contract that stated the logos must say on otherwise ownership will go back to Pepsi.
Coke made many threats to sue the district if the logos were not removed. They finally had to remove the logos which resulted in Pepsi removing the signs.
My point here is that the district didn't gain anything. They had to buy new scoreboards and other equipment Pepsi originally "donated." From this real life experience I learned that schools are no place for ANYONE to advertise.
My computing days started out on an Apple IIE. Soon after, I moved on to PCs. I am happy to see that Apple has a winning product and service. I am in no way an Apple zealot. I am just happy to see the little guy win every once in awhile. I am very impressed with the iTunes service. What else can I say.
The DRM add on was on Windows Update a few weeks ago. It was not a Critical Update. Like every Windows User should do, I ran Windows Update to find a few critical updates but to my suprise the DRM update was not there. I have not downloaded it and do not have automatic updates enabled. I'm posting this because today I tried to access a file from "unknown" sources and to my suprise a Microsoft DRM message pops up asking for authentication. The message said that unique information is sent to a Microsoft Database. Does anyone know anything about this ****!!!! I'm wondering if Microsoft bundled it with critical updates?!?
So the files are in.wma format and it installs software. Could this software be Microsoft's DRM attempt. If that's the case there should be a crack soon. I'll give a day or so.

Ask any of these guys this question:
What operating system does your web server run?
Do you think any of them could answer that question? I don't think this reflects the candidates, it reflects their IT staff.

It looks like hanging chad is the least of our problems!!!
I understand that some people may need tech support but $39.95!?!?!?!
There are many free discussion boards out there.

In Soviet Russia, open source is monopoly.

So let me get this straight. This is such a shock to me:) Intel wants a developing nation to fork out the dough for Windows. I can barely afford XP.
