    Follow the money. Microsoft is loosing market share. This is just an attempt to shore up falling profits.
    Wonder why the big push for Microsoft mutli-media computing recently in Mag and avderts? Well this is just part of it. Microsoft wants to be your single source of entertainment. Just wait until they launch their video channels.

    It's such a shame they have picked such crappy lossy formats for their media player. You will not have to wait long for the new security exploits to start poping up either.

    Warn your friends. They don't want to touch this with a ten foot pole. We don't need another Microsoft monoculture and attempt at monopoly setting computing back.

    Even the clerks in WalMart Check IDs when accepting credit cards now even my 85 year old Mom's. The is technology that is looking of a use that is not needed.

    It's all about control.
    If you can't have cash something many politicians and beraucrats want to see, you can be controled.
    Just think.
    No underground economy, cheating on taxes. It makes it simple to instutite 50% tax schemes and non-personhood for disenters.
    What is manditaory for this scheme? Biometric IDs.

    Let me see what do I want more my civil liberties or government convience passed of as personal convience and security.

    After reading the articles I am still all for shooting the bastages.
    At +300 Spam messages a day from email addrsss harvested from my websites and WHOIS info and the spoofing of my domain as the domains of the spamers I am fed up. Responding to them would be a drop in the bucket and a waste of time.

    Interesting idea but it still doesn't explain where the oil is?
    I can't believe the mods they crack me up.
    There is no censorship like left wing censorship. Forget not being able to copy your own CDs and DVDs and how scarry that is start worring about those who don't like your questions who mod you down in real life. In real life it's discriminiation, immoral and ilegal but some how I think they would do it anyway. Perhaps they would even lock you up for your ideas. Like this crackheaded "copyright" protection it's a bad thing.

    Just so you know the police are always armed in the US. They are not showing up armed just because of the protest. It would be very rare for any law enforcement agent in the US to not be armed. Most of them carry pepper spray or some tearing agent all the time as well. Any US citizen is aware of this.

    That all said the police tend to riot every chance they get in the US. The exception to this would be in San Fransisco Ca and Washington DC. You really have to step on your personal parts to get the cops beating on you in those places.

    Don't worry about 99% of the modding is censorship by folks on crack.
    If the person that modded it posted to the thread after modding the thread as this person claims they are a scuzz ball and don't deserve to moderate. They know you can't post to a thread you mod. Going AC to do it is chicken poop and against the spirit of moderation.

    Your point was on topic and has beeen much copied in the thread if the mod had bothered to read the thread completely.

    No the UK has nothing like that it has something else held without charge or trial for more than a year

    So in comparison it's pretty frightful in the UK as well.

    Using that logic automobiles equal violence as they kill lots more people. I am not trying to be funny. I have literally a wall full of guns and I have never comtemplated doing violence with any of them. I have never used any of them to kill anything. Hell I don't belong to the NRA even. I have fired them lots at paper and AOL cd's. When I think firearm I don't instantly think violence. I think doing so is totally unfair and frankly backwards thinking. I just have a good time shooting and reloading and violence has zero to do with it.

    Heck I just realized I have more guns than IT related reference books and the books are oveflowing off my desk and bookshelves.
