    Dear Mr Dipshit. I am getting over 400 different peices of SPAM a day.
    My fiter catches about 1/3.
    I tweak the filter to 99% and in about 2 weeks it's back to catching 1/3 again.
    I simply don't want to get any spam. I don't want to have to keep playing games with these spammers.
    It's a waste of my time.

    Whats wrong with a paper ballot again?
    Oh big media can't instantly report the winner, thats right.
    Some how thats a bad thing.
    Scantron type cards would deal with that and the ballot is human readable.

    We don't need expensive, complicated machine voting when cheaper technology exist.
    Just because you can do a thing doesn't mean you must.
    I still say paper ballots are more tamper resistant.

    If Isreal uses Open Office more power to them.
    It has little impact on the big picture however and puts no "taint" on open source as all are free to use it or not as they wish.

    Europe is noted for it's centuries old habit of anti-semitism.

    As far as you representation of how people in the UK feel about Bush and the war in Iraq. The Guardian did a survey "Protests begin but majority backs Bush visit as support for war surges." It appears you are wrong according to the quite liberal UK Guardian

    They will very be happy to tell you that Grey Davis had his "election stolen" by a "vast right wing conspiracy" and they didn't vote for him.
    Take a look at this map.
    That sould explain quite a bit. California isn't LA county or the Bay Area.

    Actually most of it doesn't just LA and the SF Bay area.
    This map shows a roughly of how this all is in reality.
    The majority of the state hates this stuff and would just as soon these people go away.
    However this is the kind of thought that dominates the Democrat party in California.
    Just as the Republican is dominitated by a bunch of Orange county loosers.

    You are right.
    Speed is important to the news media and TV networks so they can make sure the person they picked wins.
    If their person doesn't win then the media must raise a stink and claim fraud.
    If free and fair elections are whats wanted paper ballots are just fine.
    I am for keeping paper ballots

    Outside of elections in Chicago and New York city most US elections have been fair over the last 200 years.
    The reason they love those old machines in New York is bending a few bars and springs is all it takes to steal an local election.

    There is no country that hasn't had some kind of electorial hanky panky at some level at some time.
    Perfect elections are a myth.
    Keep the paper ballot.

    Bush won't win California.
    Last election he didn't even try.
    So why would anyone try and "steal" it for him.
    That is the question I keep asking myself when I read this stuff.
    Why would you try and steal an election in a state where you hardly tried to run?
    Where you chance of winnning is near zero
    The answer is you wouldn't
    But thats too obvious to the tin foil hat crowd.
    My fear is that in a democrat dominated state like California that the democrats would steal election like the Daley machine in Chicago does all the time.
    I live in California so it's a issue I worry about.

    I am all for a postal voting using scantron type paper ballots.
    Forget these expensive machines.

    Paper ballots are better even if these machines will have to have a voter verified recipt/paper trail by 2005 for new machines and 2007 for existing machines.
    It's throwing good money after bad for a problem that didn't exist in California.

    The Sec of State is elected in Califorina so Arnold is never going to appoint anyone unless the elected one keels over.
    I doubt California is going to get showered with anything but shit. I know this because I live here.
    Washington takes money out of California and we get about 70 cents of every dollar back with added unfunded mandates, that total way more than that.
    Arnold is already a breath of fresh air.
    Appointing a enviormentalist to be in charge of the enviroment what a concept. He is going to be a great governor. One like this state hasn't seen in decades. A governor that will govern in the peoples interest not some political parties.

    The paper record is voter verified. But if you had read any article on the Cal Sec of State mandate for paper records you would have noticed it.
    To many people who haven't RTFA commenting.

    It would be easier and cheaper to go to a scantron type postal ballot and be done with these expensive and unproven machines. At least you can do a visual recount with them with ease. Perhaps more people would vote if they didn't have to leave home.

    Paper Ballots are best.

    I tell yyou what you call your elected city representaive member of county superviors office and relate what you just related and I can almost assure you that you will get some results if you refuse to take no for a answer. If that won't work call teh newspaper and TV/radio stations they love this stuff your problem will be solved pretty fast. Cops don't like a stink it shows how little effect all the money they spend effects actual crime.

    I think you fail to realize IBM can pour way more capital into this than SCO will ever raise. IBM can out lawyer Boies any day.

    Daryl McBride is a joke. SCO is history. Most importantly. Justice can be bought. IBM has more money than GOD. SCO is history. It just may not be as fast as many of us Linux users want but it will happen. McBride and others could very well end up in jail once the dust has settled here.
