This over reaching by Federal Law enforcement is just the latest in a long line of obscene offences against the bill of rights. Journalists are not ISPs and the FBI lawyers know it. They are just pushing the limits to see how compliant the target will be in hopes they can get away with a fast one. If anyone doubts that the government is in radical need if being put on a short leash and reminded who they work for this is just one more proof. Half of the laws on the books shouldn't be there. We have a government that think it's job is to lock up as many of the citizens as possible and will distort law if thay can get away with it to do it. Screw the Feds.
"government" property? The Poles behind my house are on private property they are in an easement. The Power compamy pays "taxes" to the county for "property" I don't know where you all are getting this "the goverment owns the property" stuff from. The government created easments on private property by law. The government owns nothing. It's private property the Power company gets use of. They pay no "rent" just taxes to the local government.
Oh the Public Libary can really afford the active RFID tags I am sure. They are trying to cut losses. But being/. there can never be a simple explanation. Occam's razor can never get applied.
Loose the tin foil hat people. There are people out there who really do want to spy on you but you will never know who they are becasue you have blinded yourself with your on agenda and politics.
This has everything to do about not having their books riped off and making tracking them more efficent and is useless in respects to "tracking users." The tags have a range of 2 to 3 feet. Just enough to keep you from walking out the door with a book you are trying to steal.
Get a grip on reality and drop the unhealthy paranoia and tin foil hat.
I think those are called single use rockets and capsules. They work really well. They still build them in Russia and ISS will be using them for ever I bet.
How about 2,000 pissed off Linux users showing up at the Canopy building with sledge hammers and crowbars and doing some demolition on evil central? I wonder what they would do if their offices were turned into a pile of splinters and rubble?
The Players here are Canopy not SCO. SCO is a now just front for the Canopy Group. Darl doesn't take a shit with out getting permission from Ray Norda.
Screw `um time to start boycotting SCO's customers too. That is something the stock market will notice and SCO's stock value will drop back down to delisting range where it belongs. Were do we get a list of their customers to start harrassing?
The "WAN" port is just a NIC interface for connecting to you cable modem/ xDSL modem I bet. So they are calling it a WAN port. It's a consumer appliance so they figure they will call it some thing incorrect and really confuse people.
"Connecgt your cable/adsl modem to the WAN port and your computers to either of the provided LAN ports."
Or some such instructions.
You better check your TOS. Such a thing will certainly violate 99.9% of all non business type accounts with internet service providers. The personal part is so you can serve stuff on your side of the firewall.
This is cool. The guy who built this knows what he is doing. Most of you don't. Don't try this at home.
Cannons and Mortars are legal to own. My Brother in Law owns a cannon they use at civil war re-enactments so who ever posted that the BATF will get you is full of it. At charge of 3 oz Pyrodex a shot this is not cheap to fire but this is not a toy even though it's used like one. Last time I bought FFFG Pyrodex it was aprox $14.00 for 16 ounces. That was a while back. ( I have several black powder firearms.)
Do the math of a 8 lb bowling ball traveling 400 FPS for 600 yards. You don't want to be on end it lands on.
Looks like loads of fun if you have the room/safe place to do this. Lots of noise and smoke.
I am removing all my registrations from Network Solutions. They are overpriced and arrogant. Site finder is just the latest bad thing in a long line of bad things. Cut off their money and set up a new DNS register out of their control. Verisign has a bag case of greed and needs a wacking.
This is another instance where my Libertarian views diverge (at least from this clueless ahole's view point.) I want spammers put in pound you in the ass prison. They are costing me and my ISPs money. Let the Guberment put the fear of god into their useless hides. Spam is spam if it comes from some cofused granny, a clueless newbie or some acomplished spam arist. I don't want any. Kill the the spaming bastages, kill them dead now or lock them up and toss the key. Enough is enough.
Why would those suits be tossed out? Last time I looked you can get sued most places for false advertising and in most places win. I don't buy the suits getting tossed out at least not in Califorina where both Verizon and SBC are very big.
I still think the PR hit would be pretty bad. I sure would avoid chosing a celular provider that was know for giving up it's customers. It would be the kiss of death for their internet businesses period.
Tandy 1000 with a 40 mb HD with DOS 6.1. (paid $400 for the HD) is the oldest here.
Well it seems Ralph Yarro needs the same treatment as he seems to be the true "father" of all this SCO evil.
Thanks for the info Bill.

Has it been offically filtered through a keyboard first?
This guy is hate monger and uber racist POS. He has a history of racist acts and arrests.
92% negative rating currently. More of you should vote this clown into the toilet.

Power company owns the poles, the Cable Company "rents" space just like the phone company. At least where I live.
People use Internet Explorer? Computer literate peole use it? That is frightening.

heheh it worked for me :p but as you know it may not now
I have read where people actually tried to catch cannon balls during the US civil war.. Ouch.
Black Powder Cannon that do not use fixed ammunition are legal in Califorina.

Unauthorized as in consumer DVD and CD recorders. More DRM from Microsoft.
