    your basic non-geek user can find ftp programs a little complicated to use (don't ask why, I don't get it). Web based does allow for a certain level of comfort and ease for non-tech users.

    from a web based system I have not seen anything to match the comercial offerings. The OSS all seem to be very baisc. Not having versioning or any other advanced features.

    um, how do you know what a neanderthol man looked like? Because a man is really big he is neanderthol? If that were the case, eating at mcdonalds could turn you into a neanderthol.

    Gravity is more than just a theory. We can perform an experiment and prove it. Gravity can be observed. Evolution is different. We have not observed it happening and have not been able to perform an experiment to prove it. Gravity and Evolution are not comparable in the way you suggest.

    which involves isolating genetic fragments from fossils of the prehistoric beings who originally inhabited Europe, is being carried out at the Leipzig-based institute.

    According to the article they will isolate the DNA from fossils. Do they already have fossils or are they still looking for them to get the DNA? Is there any record of fossils with the DNA? They said it was early in the project.. is it early enough that they are looking for the DNA still? Very vague article when you look at it.

    Copyright was not meant to protect consumers. It was meant to protect the rights of the guy who wrote the material. It is to protect the right of the supplier.

    If what you said were true why didn't Microsoft take say FreeBSD and do the same thing? It's BSD Licensed, UNIX based and a pretty solid system.

    This gives immense insight into the type of people that get voted into Parliment. The voters are either oblivious, don't care, don't know better or maybe they are also members of that movement.

    Either way, the next time the British Parliment critizes something in the world I will be rethinking where they are coming from.

    I would guess that you don't know much about the planned military path forward. You may want to do some research in the area of the military and their path forward. You might be pleasently suprised.

    I know you were trying to be funny, but let's be honest, you weren't. This is a very serious matter. There will be young 18 and 19 year old boys tricked by the military into dying in Iraq, Afghanistan and Iran for years to come. They will have their limbs blown off by roadside bombs. Many will die. So please, do not joke about this matter.

    Those young boys who sign up to be in the military should know the repercussions of their actions in going that road. They are responsible adults who make a decision. If they didn't want to be in a potentially hazardous job they should not have signed up for it.

    Now, don't think I don't feel bad for a soldier or thier family when he/she passes on. I do feel bad. But, they made their own decision.
