It takes zero money and little effort to overclock a processor 10-15%, just change a few settings in your Bios.
Now go to Pricewatch and look at the difference in Intels p4's. 8% drop from 3.06 to 2.8Ghz set you back $170. From 2.6 -> 3.06Ghz the price doubles. more than $258.
In addition it is often the same chip, just maked differently. Intel and AMD needs to supply at different pricepoints, but the process and speed yield does not always follow this, so the often bin some higher perfromance chip down.
FYI, You can get the Zaurus over at TigerDirect
for $199. It is recertified and Tiger has kind of a dubious image although I have bought from them a few times with no problem.
Are you willing to let the OSS community examine the UnixWare code, so as to make sure that no part of the Linux / GPL code found it way into your software. SCO engineers has worked on Linux so by your own reasoning there is a fair chance code was "borrowed" and reused in Unixware.
A small insignificant company like SCO can not possible have the engineering expertise to make enterprise ready SW, therefore they must have stolen from someone.
I do not think that the "mistake" part is the biggest problem. The problem in my view is that the Government is made up of individuals with all kinds of motivations.
Do you think privacy information will not be mis used? Just think Javert from Victor Hugo's Les Miserables.
This happens all the time in various forms. From over zealous IRS agents, to Police officers, to Health Care workers, you name it.
Good for you. I am at the other end of the scale. My current upload is 25kB/s but the download is below 1kB. At current rate I will be finished around the time the RH-9 hits the mirrors. IE One week.
It is not quite as dumb as you indicate. The screen is quite small and having it as a non nested printable reference is handy. Second on the mailing list you will note quite a few references to how the file structure is laid out. Its handy to point to a document on the web while you do this.
Remember the discussion about open sourcing the BeOS. Gassee said many times that would not happens and the main reason was that a lot of the code inside BeOS was licenced from somewhere else.
Windows probably have lots of pieces of code that would have to be rewritten or obtain agreement from 3'rd parties.
The latter could be hard to get since those pieces might not be somethng you could build a OSS Service business around.
There is a long military tradition for what Saddam is doing. Remember our WW2 Comrade Stalin. Scorched earth is what saved the Soviets and they too set the oil fields in the Ukraine ablaze.
Right or wrong from their vantage point they are being attacked, so feigning indignation when they responds in a predictab way is kind of folly.

No we do not.
Misguided nationalism like this is what the leaders like Bush is banking on. Ignore the dissidents knowing full well that "we" will all support our troops, and Apple Pie once it starts.
Keep on being against this "War of Choice" as it has been so aptly named.
The conscious decision to fast forward makes more of a mental impact then dozing thru the whole litany of Smiling happy people getting full filled thru spot less shirts.
This should be read as scathing critique of the add agencies ability not something to do with Tivo.

Go ahead download some illegal content from Kazaa at least it will stimulate our intellect.
Not really, it actually shows that Linux can live productively with another OS. The Sharp guys are business men, not kamikaze pilots. The idea is to sell PDA's not to wage holy war.
If you think about it the best way to further Linux is to make it work with windows. Linux is flanking MS on all side. Servers, Phones, PDA's, Entertainment hubs. Windows will be the OS of choice for the Desktop for a while, but that is where they will stay. The Desktop..., trying anything else is futile
Yes, but you need to change most programs and recompile. Installing on CF cards will cause most unmodified programs to assume that common libaries is on the CF card. Not a big deal but not for the "Click and Run" crowd.
Just pop in a CF card and use that as the "hard drive"
Use CF for stoarage yes, but you need the SD card for running (most) programs. Installing a program to the CF card will in most cases not work. For Swap you can use SD but there is a speed / number of Writes penalty.
Build in memory vs expansion options almost always comes out favoring expansions. The reason is the volatility and the machanics of the memory market. Most producers can not compete on memory procurement. Reason is the much longer cycle time of finished products (from initial production thru product in users hand) vs memory modules. Plus potential form factor issues, In addition there is the risk factor that the PDA producer rather not take. Risk is expensive even though you win once in a while.
That being said I love my Zaurus
Based on the guy that paints the last letter in the intro Red Dwarf is around 1Km high, and 8Km long. Width is about 2X height.
Anyone has better numbers?
Indeed, this Sig I saw a few days ago sums it up quite nicely

Granted it is normally CEO but a long title if used enough could be abbreviated as well. Example: RHCE

Let's cut Ian some slack, after all he is the Ian in Debian
Even if they are so fucking what! This kind of thinking is a throw back to the 50's McCarthyism, why not brand them Terrorists while we are at it.

We are talking $20 or so for a 64Meg SD card so life (over a year) is not really an issue. Not sure about performance.

FWIW, I have probably downloaded 10+ disti's for the two I curently have installed.
Since slashdot uses MySQL would this feature if implemented catch dupes?
