not that I want it to run out anyway... =)) it feels good to support /., but not that good... =)

anyway, another possible solution is to set only the homepage to "No Ads"...

We already can borrow/download any version of Microsoft Windows or Microsoft Office, or any major Linux distro or OSS from the university library and the software server... cool, isn't it?

    campus-wide Microsoft licenses, btw...

I wish they'd let us see them regardless. This place actually has relevant ads that I find interesting, oddly enough.

Well, you can always set your subscription preferences to "Ads"...

  5. Re:Slashdot Subs. on Christmas Gifts for Geeks · · Score: 1

On the other hand, a subscription as a gift seems patently asinine to me. I can't think of any of my friends who wouldn't sock me in the face for getting them a lame gift like ad-free /. for Christmas. :D

Just as you wouldn't pay the tip for their dinner... =)

The thing is, although being a subscriber makes me feel good (because I know I'm supporting /., and in return I'm gettting an ad-free /.), I'm not sure if the subscriber system is better for /.

Do you think they'd earn more from the ads?

Oh, and this is what a Turk does to another... Says he will check me with my university (whatever that means) just because he thinks I'm a Kurd. The guy has no idea that I'd have the right to live & study in Turkey even if I were a Kurd, just as he probably would like to do, in the United States.

I'm so proud that I'm not one of "that kind of" Turks.

because teaching takes much more time...

if you don't have enough time for your children, well, then that's your problem if your children does things that are "evil" from your perspective...

first, (as previously noted) understand your child's nature, understand what's normal for him/her to do...

and then, start educating him/her, keeping his/her nature in mind...
