The US army seems to not be on the field of battle right now. Obama is sending signals that he will not use ground forces outside a few discrete surgical strikes. It's mostly an air war.

What a lot of these people believe, and this goes back to the 12'er sort of reasoning is that major battles will happen in historic religious places (as their interpretations of religious texts indicate). All the beheading and so on is to try to lure a large army into battle in these places. This threat on a mall is to lure the US army or the "Armies or Rome" into battles in these places that will supposedly cause someone to reenter the fray and start Armageddon.

A crypto currency would be like buying gold to hedge against the inevitable inflation or devaluation of the currency. It wouldn't be a matter of printing more, it would be a matter of will this dollar still buy a dollars worth of something if the value is cut in half. But with a crypto currency, the initial scarcity could be negated if there was a one time creation of enough currency to cover the expected load and the key would be destroyed (or useless) and unlike investing in gold to hedge the value, it wouldn't temporarily increase demand and costs initially. I'm guessing that instead of creating a new currency, they would just create an exchange with the help of other exchanges.

So during and after the fallout, some currency could be exchanged back into whatever dollar system is in place as needed and it would be at the exchange rate in comparison to a more stable dollar (like the euro or USD) instead of holding a dollar that is worth only 25 percent of it's value 10 or even 2 years ago. OF course this will make purchasing more crypto currency units more expensive as you would need to spend 4 times as much but it would lessen the shock of whatever is to come. And on another note, if the finance minister adopted and used a specific crypto currency through their exchange, they would also have records of who can be taxed and perhaps those records would be more complete than what they have now (I hear tax avoidance in Greece is rampant).

This is more obvious when the discusson turns to the legal age of concent or abstinance but the m.o. is typically the same- hurl insults and slander until the person is afraid to ask the question openly anymore which reduces their ability to find answers.

In real life, parents should not be hovering over their kids 24/7. In order for that to be possible, they should be able to expect that junior can sit at the computer and look up something for school and not get links to goatz or tubgirl or whatever (2 girls one cup) because some troll thought it would be funny to link it under watching a cat dance or something stupid that children would easily get distracted by. They should be confident that when sally is looking up how to make beaded jewlery for frendship bracelets, she does not end up finding anal beads in action. And no parrent wants to be the one helping them while hovering and have it happen.

The alternative to censoring your kids connection is to censor everyones which is the wrong approach. Kids need a certain amount of freedom else they will not learn to make decision that have consequenses. And until those facts are in and understood, making claims that you cannot get cancer from the Human Papillomavirus Virus is about as accurate as a witch doctor declaring that you specifically will not get cancer from smoking. The data simply isn't in and unless someone knows something will cut your life short, the claims simply cannot be made.

You can have unprotected sex without fear of infection if you and your partner get tested for STD's. There is no "test" that will let you smoke without risking cancer.

Humans have an inborn desire to fuck. They don't have an inborn desire to smoke cigarettes.

That is until they get addicted. And yes, inborn is a proper term for the addiction because the chemical actors interfere with chemistry in the brain making smoking and pretty much other addictions necessary to return to the proper balance they naturally want to reach. That is why quitting is so difficult for some people.

Sex isn't a product (unless you buy one of those Japanese robots, but robots wont give you AIDS) and can't be taxed, as it's something you could go out and start doing with your neighbor 30 seconds after reading this. Cigarettes are a product that are purchased in stores, and that makes them taxable.

Actually, sex most certainly can be taxed. It's just a matter of what levels of intrusion you are willing to allow the government to have. Certain types of sex were even outlawed and people were sent to jail for it in the past.

Of course you should be able to still press buttons and turn nobs to override it, but you should also be able to sit at a web panel and adjust it too.

Your fridge, Your right, open it by hand. But let read a QR code when you put milk and eggs in or something that is perishable then have it remind you if something if at the expiration date or if you are low so you can stop and grab more or even create a shopping list for you. You should be able to pull a screen up on your phone or web panel and monitor it or perhaps it sends you a reminder at the end of the work day or something.
