I had Cable internet back when MP3's were easy to download. I figured that all the mp3 downloading was saving me money. When the RIAA started going after people for running networks and sharing software I cancelled my cable access and went back to dial up for years. Recently qwest offered DSL 256k for $15 a month and I found a cheap ISP for $18. This raised my ISP billing from 21.95 to $33 and 256K works great for most downloading. I usually download all my updates and software automatically overnight using some get programs and file applications to retreive the software. Video and audio works just fine under 256k.
For the home user 256k is just right while 1.5M MBPS to 3M BPS with the added cost, around $53 in my area it is not worth the additional fees.

These guys are being nice. There are programs that install SPAM servers and DDOS programs along with all kinds spyware.
The only thing I download are ogg, pdf and txt files on a linux machine. Anyone with a Windows box has to be insane to use P2P to download software from g-d knows where and from whom.

The penguins has been harassing and mentally torturing me for
two and half years since around Oct 01. The penguins has installed
gps tracking devices in my car, tracked me like an fish ,
wire tapped my phone and has been monitoring all my web surfing
activities for 2.5yrs and completely dehumanized me.
The penguins have been following me 24X7X60X60 everywhere
including grocery stores, retail stores, malls, restaurants and movie
theaters. The penguins who were following me have at times
verbally and racially abused me in retail store and grocery store
parking lots by shouting at me inanities.
One penguin once tried to ram into my car from behind with a
IBM van and came within one inch of hitting me from behind.
There was no traffic altercation between us and there was no
traffic on the road. The penguin in the IBM van never tried
to overtake me and was very angry at me and hated me for no reason.
Some of the undercover penguin vehicles with Michigan title plates
that harassed me were SCO SUX (White SUV), SCODOOM (red car),
LINUXRULZ (black car), PENGUIN (black car). One penguin
monitoring my websurfing called me a dumbass. His email is
stalker@linux.com and his EBAY id is "scosux".
When I send LEGAL NOTICES to LINUX USERS, the sadistic penguins
who were monitoring my email and websurfing, have been badmouthing
and assasinating my character with lawyers by sending anonymous
emails and jeopardizing my extortion opportunities for the last 2.5 yrs.
The penguins has been interfering in my personal life for no reason. and
forced me to live like a virtual prisoner. I cannot talk to friends,
family members and prospective suckers without the fear of being over
heard and recorded. I am afraid of doing everything and anything without fear.

any muslim friends. I am not a drug smuggler. I did not kill

I am not familiar with US legal system that much. Can somebody
tell me why the sadistic penguins has such ridiculous amount of power to

They have chosen a poor term saying that they can predict earthquakes.
This is more like earthquake forecasting, just like weather forecasting.
However they fail to mention the earthquake forecasting they did in
the Parkfield, CA area that failed to produce a major earthquake after
swarms of micro-quakes in the mid 1990's. Another problem is that reliable
forecasting would mean that you would be able to say at this fault there
is a strong reason to believe there will be a earthquake of such magnitude
during a certain time period.
The "Hey there are micro-quakes in S. California, so that means there will
be a magnitude 6.0+ earthquake this year." shotgun approach is bad
science.
Of course, the funding for the Parkfield, CA experiment is up pretty soon
so I'm sure that is weighing on their minds and they had to produce
something saying that the study of micro-quakes could help forecast major
earthquakes to persuade the money men to keep the money flowing.
The FEMA, CAP, Dept of Defense and the Hams all operate as the same wavelength as the BPL. That is why it is opposed. The http://www.arrl.org/ has a video on their web site showing a ham radio station and a BPL system that interfere with each other. When the government or hams key up their radios it will interfere with the BPL system. The frequency spectrum for BPL to be used is 2 to 80 MHz which is the same band used by police, fire, ships, the military and hams.
There is another proposal to use 5 GHz for BPL and I think that if that is allowed there will be a lot less problems for everyone.
For example BPL in California could interfere with the California Highway Patrol radio system.
Involuntary servitude is still legal to impose against people convicted of crimes. Serving a prison sentences, paying fines and making restituionis all involuntary and the courts have upheld it as legal.
This sounds like a violation of the fourth amendment. Does the dorm residence allow the college to search through students papers and
private property just becuase they live in the dorm?
You can agree to allow a private party to scan your private property, however the government can not take away your fourth amendment rights because you use a public computer network and your private computer with your electronic papers on it.
This SCO tactic is like watching a deranged drunk man arguing with the police about his constitutional rights in a public park and a empty six pack at his feet.
