Would you like to be ostracized because of your father-raping, pig-fucking, child-molesting second cousin?
That's not the point. The point is that G. W. Bush is always talking about family values, how his family is solid and respects Christian values, etc, etc. And GWB himself isn't Mr. pure either, for that matter.
I'm not complaining about your (completely valid) point, just nitpicking your spelling of "Firefox" as "FireFox" and other such MisCapiTaliZations of CoNnecTed words;)
The first TV recordings were made on recording discs, and played back by putting the microphone of the "Baird Televisor" close to the speaker of the gramophone. And, oh, yeah, vinyl rocks:P
I'm running Firefox on an Ultra 1, a Sun workstation with equivalent performance to around a Pentium-2. It works great for me. It also works great on my K6-II 450 server.
The GPL is automatic democracy. Anyone can work on it, it can't be closed, and improvements will be universally availible.
The only potential consequences I see is that developers get paid for working on OSS, and that OSS will be more widely adopted. I don't see the problem here.
Oh sure, and the government has NEVER lied to the public about oil before... We can all just sit back and relax in our new gasguzzling SUV's. They've got it under control.
Fossil fuels are destroying our planet, but what if we suddenly do something monumentally stupid? What if some unlikely thing happens that completely fucks up the ecologic system?
Well, to nitpick - - Telegrams were not electronic in 1904, 100 years ago. I know, I have a Teletype in my bedroom. The term "Electronics" came about in the 1920s, when the aspiring new EE field started working with vacuum tubes and such. Hell, the first vacuum tube amplfier, the Audion tube, wasn't even invented until 1909. Back then, it was morsecoded, using only electromagnetic relays and such. So, electric, but not electronic.
The death penalty has been proven not to be an efficient deterrant (Quite the opposite, as the government is endorsing lethal revenge). Also, the aim of the US legal system is pathetic. During a recent examination, it was found that 40% of the people on death row really didn't have any real evidence against them. Shooting first and asking later will yield very few answers.
Very good comment, and I agree with everything except the last phrase. You don't shoot someone because they deserve it, you shoot them if you will die or get seriously harmed if you don't.
Whether or not they deserve it is up to the legal system, not you, and any attempts to make that call is a criminal offence, as should be.
They followed the proper nomenclature (a pleasant surprise to me) and called malicious hackers "crackers".
See http://catb.org/~esr/jargon/html/C/cracker.html
and then this:

I myself am personally offended when people think that hackers are malicious.
"SNAFU" can not be used as an exception!
It means "Situation Normal, All Fucked Up", and thus would imply that it can't have been an exception.
It did on all versions of W95 except OSR2, which made it optional, which carried through to 98.
Nonono - Libraries of Alexandria are what the metric system uses! You US bastards use congress ;)
But that really doesn't antimatter at all.
Hmmm - why do you call them fingers, when I've never seen them fing?

Deepest sympathies to the family and friends for their loss. RIP.
I shall bring out the Atari/Amiga wars which STILL ARE RAGING.
Not to mention the famous Apple T-shirt given out to its speech recog employees: :)
"I helped Apple wreck a nice beach"

MS Office is a brilliant design, and we are thus copying it.
Just like Windows copied the Start button, task grouping, GUI, and pretty much everything that came on top of DOS.
But MS Office is actually a very good program.
Urm, according to that link, he was found guilty on two of the six charges...
At least give Grace Murray Hopper credit for her own quotes...
Have you really not heard this poem?
:)
IBM had a PL/1
Its syntax worse than *JOSS*
And everywhere this language went
it was a total loss
Oh, and BTW, I have a TTY 33 KSR in my bedroom
Too bad they don't sell video content on records.
:P
Ah, but monsieur. you are mistaken!

Regarding what keeps you in Windowsland, all the standard Microsoft fonts can be gotten by typing
assuming, of course, you have a Debian/Semidebian. And for the games, well, it's slowly improving.
Good luck ahead, and don't be afraid to ask in #debian or #linux on irc.freenode.net. (I'm toresbe)

THINK THAT'S BAD?
My school has ~200 computers, all set to either 60hz, or 43Hz(!!!) interlaced. My eyes tear within seconds of sitting down.

Darwinian evolution in practice. :)
