This is because CSS has well-defined error handling. The spec says what to do in (nearly) every situation, so all browsers do it the same way

What the fuck kinda coke you smokin'? I've spent a couple of days (DAYS!) working on a CSS-based layout for a project. It has two sets of navigation, dynamic content, and must be cross-platform compatible, acessible, and reliable.

To get the site to look and work right across browsers, and with different configurations of dynamic content, it requires more divs for CSS "Workarounds" and "hacks" (For example: Two divs and two styles just to fake the min-height property since IE doesn't support it. min-height isn't exactly esoteric) than it does for the primary site layout. I gave the order to go back to tables this morning. It reduces a lot of code on the page, and is much simpler (Leading to: easier to maintain).

I want to do the right thing and markup symantically, but until some new browsers come out, and reduce the current version of IE share to less than 10%, I'm going with what works.

While hypercubes are especially efficient at solving certain groups of problems, they do require a very different/specialized type of programming. To be honest, I think we'll see less of that in the commercial market. My guess is that we'll see more systems where the processors are independant but cooperative (as opposed to tightly coupled in a hypercube or grid formation). It allows for great performance boosts without a huge change in the way people program.

3 processors is especially intrigueing for game (hence video) programming, since it leaves once CPU to calculate a given visual channel, and dump the result in shared memory, resulting in a complete image. However, this would be tricky without a more tightly coupled system than we generally see today.

That will have a large impact on your interaction with them. While you will not be prejudiced towards them, they do not share your lack of prejudice.

Consoles are going up in price as they try to match PCs in terms of graphics power. Since xbox and ps2 run at resolutions way lower than PC resolutions, they don't need the processing power PCs do. This is changing as TVs become HDTVs, and get the same resolution as computer monitors. I just built a /fast/ PC for a buddy for about $800. Ok, I'm a PC user, always have been. I like the idea of Macs, but I'm a gamer, so I have PCs. With that in mind...

So what he's saying is that mac writers are biased towards the benefit of Apple... They have Apple computers, they use Apple computers, they like Apple computers, and so they write about Apple in a positive way.

Now, think about the bias of windows users. They have Windows, they use Windows, they hate Windows, they write about Microsoft in a negative way (or not at all).

This is not just about bias because Apple computers are what people happen to use at the time. This is bias because Apple has created a product that its users appreciate. This is why Apple is in a position right now where its products are almost universally lauded, while Microsoft's are often reviled. The media reflects this.

It's Microsoft not living up to peoples' expectations, while Apple gives them a superior experience (and the people are glad for it). So yes, I guess you could say that people are biased towards getting what they want.

As far as I'm concerned it's not bias, it's karma.
