IIRC,some lawsuit had happened "UNIX Magazine" and Tupperware maker. Trademark is per nation,per product-type IP. Japanese UNIX Tupperware maker had trademark of "Unix" on its own as "Japanese" "Food-related product".They regist "Unix" for years older than UNIX(as Computer Software). When UNIX as we know comes to Japan,some thought its nice to publish "UNIX Mgazine",the magazine filled with geekish material. Tupperware maker didn't think it cool,instead they considered it blatant IP theft.
