Where in American law (or in International law, for that matter) does it say that "monopolies are bad"? In fact, monopolies are the dream (or should be) of every business out there. Diversify, own everything within your realm of expertise (and yes, I know Microsoft sucks and doesn't have expertise and blah blah blah). That's how you become phenomenally rich. I'd love to be in Gates position. He took a product that was good, marketed it well, and built a great business on a great business model. Stop being jealous!
Now, I realize that monopolies (East India Tea Company) are exactly what caused some parts of the American Revolution, but that was a government controlled, government sponsored, government owned monopoly. I think that if the government owned MS, either MS would have gone down years ago, or the national debt would be gone right now. Microsoft built a monopoly without govenment protection, and when the time comes it will fall without govenment action.
"That's how powerful Gates is - he influences and bullies governments."
Only problem with that idea is that schools aren't allowed to force Bibles on children...if they were, stickers like that would be fine. There's just no point to having stickers for Bibles that don't exist.
Not that I agree with them, but I just hate people complaining about crap like that when there is a simple solution: don't patronize that company! If you hate it so much, don't go there!
Total agreement; I've had it for about 7 months now and never had a problem. I use it with both Windows and Linux systems, and while the Windows-only included software does not allow transfers from the Rio to a computer (to decrease pirating maybe), I have no other complaints.
I'd ask the same question. I had the (very nearly) same problem when I installed WinXP on a new computer last January. Turns out I had a RAM/Motherboard incompatibility problem, something about the frontside bus not allowing the correct latency timings for dual-channel memory...I'm no hardware hacker, way over my head, but you might check other things.

SuSE 9.0 was pretty much a horrible release on wireless cards as far as I can tell. My desktop system wouldn't even recognize the Netgear card under Linux until I installed the PCMCIA package through YaST. Hopefully things will improve in 9.1 (which I have yet to get ahold of) or 9.2.
You said "now third party companies are allowed to buy discount bandwidth on that one system and re-sell it at lower rates."
How did that happen? That's totally against the spirit of free competition, where in this case Bell Canada would come out the winner, because there is no one that would be able to compete with them were they not forced to sell cheap bandwidth to "competition". It's just communism: take the bandwidth from the haves, give it to the have-nots, and then everyone is happy, right? But it doesn't work that way. If there is only one phone company, fine; if there are more than one, finhe; the thing that is screwing you over are regulations (passed not by conservatives, but by politicians) that make bandwidth so much "cheaper". The problem is that the vast majority of people in the world don't understand the basic economic principle that nothing is free--kind of like the basic physics principle of conservation of mass. You don't ever get something for nothing. Ever.
MY problem with this, since it doesn't directly affect me (in the USA), is that you rail against "conservatives" who, well, yes, the wanted to open all markets to free competition, but I'm sure they never intended for things to get so screwed. And so you insult me ("criminal") because your government is screwing you. Do you understand why I believe in limited government?
You can almost talk about this as a linux "coalition of the willing", seeing as IBM is now invested in Novell which now owns both SuSE and Ximian...for those of us who are running Linux solely for speed and security and want very much to see integration of hardware-to-software-to-GUI (which is the strong point of Microsoft that allowed it to become what it is) within Linux, this is a boon.
Thanks! The only place I had heard those lines was in a weird version of "One" I found on the internet, nice to know the source...though that's the first time anyone has flamed my signature lol.
Everyone who thinks that this (meaning the actions of EB) just head on over to www.ebgames.com and send 'em a nice message in their customer service e-mail...
True, I don't see any difference between the "new file" and the ones I installed to run my Radeon 9800 under SuSE several months ago...the only thing I'm waiting on now is for the 9800 drivers to become integrated into the SuSE YaST configuration, so that it will actaully use them!
I e-mailed customer support about it and got this is my e-mail within 18 hours:

Submit : "Xfree86", while one of your competitors, is not pronography and should
not be classified as such by your search engine. This is slander! Especially
since your engine has no problem with such searches as "free86", "xfree", or
"xfree85". Please remedy this problem.
So, it makes me sad when people attack the ideas of another without clarifying their own, hopefully better, ideas:
Genres other than fantasy.
Could the author be a bit more specific as in what genre of game he'd like to see?

Yep. I sure wish I did.

"corporations cannot fuck with us like they have been"
Funny how corporations, which sell you stuff, which you buy freely, are "fuck[ing]" with you when they sell you stuff, which you buy freely.
"Same goes for the Government."
That I'll give you.

"burgled" What a fun word.
What else would the Russians use?

this one was a lot easier; especiall ywhen compared to Physics which kicked my tail pretty bad...
Don't do it. Kids without oddball names have a hard enough time while growing up.

Use linux. Nobody writes virii for linux. BSD is even better. Though I'd like to know the way one can write code to activate on selection...
