    Nintendo, really.

    I would spend my time and money on planning, design and tasks rather than buying & considering tools for a fictional job.

    It appears you want to shop for toys without having a goal.

    Not just upper end cars. My first car was a 1984 Honda Prelude--a "sport/gt" car. It only had 130hp (I think). Now you can get a Honda Civic with 127hp.
    These kind of figures are sports/gt. It's scary kids start with 200+ hp which are difficult to control; the margin of error is becoming less and less with the introduction of electronic systems such as traction control.

    Honestly, this job is probably the coolest I've done. We get the run of any joint we enter. We get to crack people's passwords, read their stuff, and pry into the details that they're trying to hide.

    No. E.g. my current employer hires a specialized firm for shredding. This firm collects the papers once a week and destroys them (I presume) at another location.

    The parts may be cheap, but the time spent on this tweak probably costs more than shipping & shredding in China (or dumping half-way).

    BIOS a bloody joke, and you should all be ashamed.
    Despite its limitations, it still works after decades. Considering the variety of third-party hardware it "supports" you cannot really compare this to limited Apple stuff.

    I loved the old terminals and Indies which had much more administrator functionality in ROM.

    BIOS is basic, you set it up correctly once, turn off the messages and boot. And, apart from some quirks, almost never breaks down. If one of the terminals or Indies broke down, there was *big* trouble.

    Yes, it is. You just have to remember the computer you worked on (can't miss that one) and mark the positions of the scrollbar/cursor on screen.

    In this list: substitute anything that has grown more features over the last years.

    For example, I use a mobile to call, no need for Java, camera's, compasses and christmas bells.

    Also, computer quality has degraded, cars are more difficult to fix etc.

    apple is trying to prevent their code from running on "unsigned" hardware. that implies the private key is in the paladium chip so it can "sign" a token sent by the OS. that's the worst case senario, and it will just take a few months to reverse engineer and distribute apple's private key along with pearpc (yes, you can read the key from that suposedly secure chip).

    No need.


    Add cgi binary to httpd on apple DRM'ed machine and serve keys across the web, http://drm.pearpc.org/ takes couple of minutes.


    Nobody's gonna sue me for distributing keys..
