Keep in mind, Said defacement was on the 6th, and we are just now finding out about the stolen data on the 10th. Sony was hacked on 4/19 and everything was known, officially, on the 26th, but some info like they admitting the hack was known a few days before. We still don't know the date someone first hacked into Steam.
Do you have a citation for the exec part btw, I honestly don't remember that. And again, in the end the info was properly secured. I don't see why people keep bringing it up as a bash against them over, and over again. Hell, it's been mentioned several times in this thread alone.
Except the hack was really all that mattered in the end. I still hope they find the SOB's that did it and have their pimply arses thrown in jail. You see i'm a bit bitter about entitlement complexed hackers stealing my info because sony wouldn't let them pirate games.
Sony announced it rather quickly, brought the network down till it was fixed, and gave everyone free games and a year of ID theft protection. What, exactly, was Sony's major problem in how they handled things?
Not really. All 'Fat tax' does is shift the tax burden from high income earners to low income earners. You see, poor people don't invest, because most of their money has to immediately go out to pay for goods and services, the very thing the flat tax would raise tax money on. Rich people tend to make most of their money from investments, which are capital gains (which consequently, they want untaxed).
I don't see any way this would result in any sort of revenue increase form rich people. It's quite clearly a massive tax grab from the poor to give the rich yet another tax break.
So you in favor of banning Alcohol as well, right? I mean, it leads to far more death, violence, and neglect then MJ does, yet is perfectly legal. Heck, i'd love to see a debate where they justify outlawing one but not the other.
Sorry, but otherOS would still be around if people had used it for homebrew instead of trying to pirate stuff or run emulators. The PlayStation lineup was always good about supporting indie dev when it was legit, with the ps1, ps2, ps3, and PSV all having options for it at one time or another. They had to disable the hacks because again, people kept using them to pirate, and piracy is not something you have the right to do.
Sony is hard to think of as a monolithic company. the content generators (Tristar, Columbia, Sony BMG) tend to be very DRM heavy, while the hardware folks don't seem to care. The game consoles tend to be very open for what they are as well, compared to their rivals.
I had a lot of fun with it, but moving to a twin screen setup forced me to play it in windowed mode, and I couldn't really read the text anymore after that.
i'm having final fantasy VIII flashbacks now. the Ragnarok launched via an electric driven rail and a ginormous ramp prior to it's rockets igniting. Normal spacecraft launched via a giant canon.
To be fair, monster hunter tri was a wii release because Capcom is too lazy to make a proper next gen engine for the game. It's basically been the same ps2 engine since day 1, with most of the same art assets. The ps3's only entry, for example, is a PSN HD port of the last PSP game.
It also had no major competition on the ps2. the only other MMO was EQOA, which was simplified to the point of being insulting to EQ 1 players, and had serious game design issues of its own, such as a lack of quests, lack of loot tables for most of the world, or unique armor/weapon designs. About the only plus the game had was it was zoneless, despite the massive, for the day, world size.
Storywise, yes, but the gameplay is...odd. I hadn't played FF6, for example, till recently, but when I did I wasn't that impressed. fights were just a static image, with no animation, just standing in for the actual monster like an avatar. Given that other rpgs had fully animated encounters, it seemed quite lazy.
FF13 was average, but playable. FF14 was basically a playable alpha they tried to sell as a full product. It was, optimistically, years away from a proper release.
FF13 is the series best example of wasted potential. If you read the indexes, there is a lot of good information and back story going on, it just seems like they ran out of time to actually put any of it in the game. I get the feeling that they spent so much time trying to get the engine running that everything was literally thrown together in the final phase to get the game out the door.
The breast thing is an anime Trope. Basically, if you have any set of girls taking a bath together in a show, they will comment/compare each other's breast sizes.
Sony doesn't hate gamers, Sony hates pirates. Pirates are the most self-entitles scum there is.
you mean 7 days. Hack occurred on the 19th and the full disclosure of what was taken was on the 26th iirc.

Well, they stored passwords and CC info as encrypted, but so did Sony. It's just FUD that Sony stored everything in clear text.

Who cares? A exec misspeaking doesn't suddenly mean it was all in clear text.
Citation needed? I remember them saying the CC info was indeed encrypted. And they announced it sooner then that I believe.
Sony was quite public about it, what are you talking about? I got emails about it, and they sent out press releases about it IIRC.
CC info was indeed encrypted on Sony's end, it was personal details like address that was not.

The PSP is on it's way out, and the PSVita is basically a tablet with physical controls. I'm not seeing anything S-Eric could really have added.

COTS? Hello?
I thought Xeno 3 was excellent, but Xeno 2 was terrible. Xeno 2 killed the series, and caused xeno 3-5 to be merged into a single game.
