Someone at the patent office needs to wake up and smell the coffee. We are going to have a situation like the landrush on domain names as a few bottom feeders run off and patent every idea in the book, and if the past is any indication, the patent office will grant patents on whoever is the first to show up, regardless of prior developments or use.
Its were they moved the server after mydoom killed them. I suspect (but do not know) the virus may be targeting a dns name rather than an IP address, consequently if they don't register the dns name to the IP, it can't beat up that web server. It also makes it damn difficult for the average user to find sco.com, but I guess thats the price you pay...
There is a degree of compatability in Netware. Versions 6+ will speak CIFS, NFS, and Appletalk in addition to Novells NCP. A MS, Unix or Apple box (server or desktop) can talk natively to a NW server. You can even make a NW box a member of a MS domain.

I took a perfectly useless windows XP desktop and made it functional using a hard disk erasing utility and a cd with SuSE on it.
