    In Australia we've been metric for 40 years. We managed the switch fine, and you could too. Sometimes I have to read old building plans that contain sizes in imperial. It really isn't a problem.

    The actual timber sizes haven't even changed very much, we just label them differently now. A 2x4 is now a 100mm x 50mm.

    So what?. That could be swept aside with something as simple as: "Sorry, we got you confused with another applicant"

    As fasr as I am concerned, CRT is ready to go the way of the Dodo.

    I prefer CRT over LCD for broadcast and DVD. LCDs are too sharp for SD. They also exagerrate compression artefacts. I'm sure this will change pretty soon though...

    There are no studies showing a trainer taking a few average joes and getting them into the world championships of bodybuilding. But there are such examples in chess, as TFA states.

    Training one girl up to Grandmaster level does not prove that your average joe can be turned into a Grandmaster. All it proves is that some children can be turned into Grandmasters, and we knew that already. Lots of kids train hard at chess. Most of them never become Grandmasters.
