This is an infalmmatory, trollish, childish article. It is not news. It rehashes tired old claims that have been dissected to bits in previous discussions here. The grammar is poor, the points are weak, the article is unconvincing.
Now how the hell does this get to the front page of Slashdot?
A bit of googling found this rather full explanation of a method that can be used to convert between Gregorian and Hebrew dates.
If you plan to add this to a major application such as Sunbird, don't forget that there are a few other calendars (Muslim, Hindu) that will be appreciated by a couple billion users..:)
If for any reason you'd like to email me privately, I am itayc at hotmail (however I am no expert on these subjects).
Not everyone out there uses the Gregorian calendar, at least not exclusively. For example, being Jewish I need to keep track of both calendars since many dates are Gregorian, while all our holidays are based on the Hebrew lunar calendar.
Outlook does an excellent job of juggling both calendars at once, as well as maintaining yearly appointments (such as holidays and birthdays) that can be assigned to either calendar - I can set an appointment to occur either every November 4th or every sixth of Tishrei, and Outlook will not mind.
I've recently switched to OSX, and it doesn't seem like anything out there still offers this capability. Can anyone enlighten me? Does anything for the Mac support this? Is Sunbird going to have this capability?

Believing that you are a special race chosen by god to take this land away from another people is backward, insulting, and a threat to the stability of the whole region.
For some reason you apply this rule to the Jews and not to the Arabs.
Israeli settlements in the West Bank have special highways back into Israel - they don't get stopped.
This is simply untrue, where did you hear this? There are no special roads. The soldiers seeing an Israeli license plate and Jewish people, will let them through. But to say we have "special roads" is an outright lie, there is no way to enter from the west bank into Israel proper without passing through a checkpoint.
The parent was not intended as flamebait, I was just commenting on the redundant breakup of the word "hijack" by Secunia and subsequently by the submitter. Sheesh.
The hi-jack seems to work with Fire-fox, wow, what a sur-prise! And we thought Fire-fox was ready for the main-stream, but maybe it's a bit pre-mature. I'm sor-ry, is this off-topic?
Since the subject has come up, can anyone possibly explain why eDonkey/eMule downloads are so painfully slow compared to BT, despite them using essentially the same technique of breaking files into small packets and sharing them around?
Even if the file on eMule has hundreds of complete sources, I can still find myself "queued" for hours before receiving anything. On BT, even with a few sources and many leeches, data is received immediately and at decent speeds.

I've followed that link, and I honestly can't find anything Israel has not done. Keeping in mind that the Palestinian Authority is not, and has never been a State, what has Israel not done that is demanded in the resolution?
Withdrawal of Israeli armed forces from territories occupied in the recent conflict
Check, Israel has withdrawn from the Sinai peninsula, is about to disengage from Gaza and parts of the West Bank. The wall being built will, hopefully, serve as a future border. The precise pre-1967 borders are not set in stone (note that the word 'all' is very specifically not included in that sentence; to say that Resolution 242 demands full withdrawal to 1967 borders is an incorrect interpretation).
For achieving a just settlement of the refugee problem;
If you define 'just' as 'let every arab who fled in 1948, and his children and their children return to their homes', well, that would mean the end of Israel. The current Palestinian leadership, however, is not willing to negotiate on this issue at all. I wonder why.
And to quote you..
If there are continued terrorist attacks after a FULL WITHDRAWL, treat Palestine like they would treat any other country, go to war with full UN support.
Bullshit. There have been terror attacks even when the Palestinians had the territories (under Jordanian/Egyptian rule), and an Israeli withdrawal, even to 67 borders, will not stop the terror. There will always be an excuse to attack, and Israel will never be backed in a war against an Arab entity, just as it never has been in the past. And even if such a war occurs, and is won by Israel, what exactly will it accomplish? We'll be right back where we are today.
Negotiations? Are you kidding? In July 2000 at Camp David, Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak offered Arafat unprecedented offers - basically everything he could ask for, all the territories and a Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital. Arafat said no and at that point [1] decided to start the current war (no, it's not an "Intifada") in October later that year. Who do you want Israel to negotiate with now?
And do you have any better suggestions as to how Israel should wage its war on terror? Don't start telling me anything about leaving the occupied territories, as Palestinian terror existed [2] long before Israel occupied any of the land currently under dispute.
IMHO the balance is weighted in favour of the palestinians because Israel uses tanks, F-16 and apache helicopters against stone throwing children and believe that is justifiable policing.
So in your humble opinion it would be best for Israel to employ tactics similar to the palestinians, i.e. blowing up buses full of children, shooting at random cars, firing rockets at random targets in cities, and throwing stones at people?
