Based on the blow quote... unless I am missing something 22% performance improvement hardly seems worth waiting for... am I miss-reading something:
"We first evaluate the optimized SPE code generation techniques presented in the section "Optimized SPE code generation." Figure 11 presents the reduction in program-execution time for each optimization relative to the performance of the original compiler. We achieved a reduction which ranged from 11 to 51 percent, averaging at 22 percent."
Whats next are they shipping every ps3 with a puppy... ofcourse the puppy will be better than microsofts puppy... lets see some product... this garbage PR is just... well garbage... i can see an xbox 360 i can hold it... i can love it... i can play it... well maybe in 2 weeks when its delivered... but it's real dammit!
There's a fine line between fishing and standing on the shore like an idiot.
This box is just far to much for the average consumer to understand. SONY has done a terrible job evangelizing the future of home entertainment to the average consumer.
Seems like RMS cares more about media than software these days.
I can see how he thinks users should share there private keys if they are making things like music cd's under gpl... i assume thats how he came up with the idiotic idea... thank goodness linus is paying attention... this could have really been a disaster for our favorite kernel.
Everyone on this thread seems to be pointing out only hardware advances for this field. Recent tool development for standards like SCA and CORBA have made software many times more approachable when addressesing the software defined radio world. US military companoes (like boeing) just rescently announced working radio's build on the spec... which all SDR radio's must implement in the future according to the JTRS.
In the canadian election that just past most parties and blogs and or podcasts.
The thing I personally found interesting was the fact that a poorly written blog that effectively says nothing really effected my vote. For example I found the liberal party blog extremely bad... and I actually changed my vote because of it.
I really hope politicians are savy about this (especially the "good politicians").
I don't know anyone that doesn't use google... and because of them my ISP now has to raise my monthly fee's... the ISP's crushed torrents and now they are gonna crush google.
You heard it here first.

I assume this is just as easy as blocking an IP address or not cache'n some URL.
