The PPC architecture PearPC emulates looks more like a Mac than anything else. Don't be fooled by the "it's a generic PPC emulator arch" thing, it's just a cover. We all know how trigger-happy Apple's lawyers are these days...
Has been done before, but pretty tough, since Apple parts are more or less non-standard. And you can't just use a generic PowerPC system (such as the PegasOS), as Mac OS X expects a minimum amount of Apple-specific hardware to run. (the infamous "Apple ROM" has ceased to exist long ago though).
"So, now what? Well, you'll no doubt tell me that we have the freedom to switch to Linux, but how free is it? Neither Dell nor the other PC manufacturers will sell me a computer with an empty hard drive at the same price as the bundled version, let alone cheaper."
You're aware of the fact that unless you're aiming for a laptop, you can just build your own computer yourself, right?
I know I'm asking this goddamn everytime I see a Second Life article on slashdot, but I'm asking again: does anybody know if there is there a Linux client in progress? When Second Life started, they said it would have Windows/OSX/Linux clients, but I've yet to see mention of Linux on their page yet. I'd be interested in trying this, but not enough to reboot to Windows (or run it through Wine).
Still plenty of feline species. My estimates show they'll most likely have to worry about the Year 2038 problem first. Then, six years later, in 1976, they will run out of feline names.
"Gaming PC's are ridiculously expensive for what they do - the video card alone costs far more than a gaming console and a half dozen games. Not what I would call economy."
Only morons and/or rich pricks buy the latest and greatest video card. A two generations old card can run pratically everything you throw it at.
I'm really getting tired of the "PC for gaming is expensive" argument. Apart from the video card -- which is less expensive than a console if you buy something reasonable -- all the other hardware you'll buy will actually be put to use when DOING OTHER STUFF WITH YOUR COMPUTER. You don't waste anything here.
Don't vulcans live a lot longer than humans? It was my understanding that Spock was older, and therefore wasn't a "teenage academy boy" at the same time as the other two.
How the hell do you think developpers manage to cover their development costs prior to selling their finished games? Software development is just like everything else, you need an investor first so you can manage to bring your idea to a (hopefully lucrative) reality.
Don't worry, I'm sure the "cost" argument makes up for it.
Luckily, thanks to the magic of the Internet, you can experience this annoyance again, in even worse format:

As if _any_ of those other measurements were actually useful...

From that site:
"Above: Promotional material published for the NABU computer network in 1984 targeted the whole family. (NABU Network Corporation)"
Wow! They even targeted dogs!

Now those Sumo wrestlers will have a game console they can get real support from. It's about damn time.

Despite its name, DRM isn't about RIGHTS. You are so native.
Looks like it works in Firefox too. Also, I'm a dumbass for having clicked that link.
It was 8, not 6.
The hell?! You STILL have to defrag your drive under Windows?
Why do they do this? It's simple, really: those shows are just one big toy commercial. Very lucrative.
Yep, the Japanese use the term "Japanimation" to refer to local animation. For them the term "Anime" refers to animation in general.
You got modded Troll for bashing Windows. You don't see THAT everyday...

As long as it isn't IN the moon it's not too bad.
Dude, Gmail is a mail service, not a PIM.
We at Adobe are waiting for our check.

It may be a shock to you, but some people actually like different kinds of games than you. Some of those kinds are mostly (gasp!) PC games.
See where I'm going?
