I know 20 years old guys who can learn nothing new, like lazy teenagers.
The question is biased. Of course, there is a biological neural decay with age, but like any other muscle, the brain need exercise, and that don't depends on age but on attitude about life. If you like and enjoy to learn new things, you will enjoy that the whole life, that's a fact.
Gorilla Arm...
Well, more...
Why people still believe that desktop computers are good as a touch device? That makes no sense for me, specially because the ugly fingerprints hehe. I love to *work* on my dual head desktop because the speed of keyboard and big resolution. If I have to use a touch device, it's not for work and not on a desktop, really.
Anyway, nice research, I have to say.
What's the problem with that? Icaza is not a member of linux community since many years ago. He was an important fellow, but not anymore. Also, THIS IS A FREE WORLD, if he decided to change, he is completely free to do that. No problem, really. There always will be people, like me and *many* others, who enjoys the liberty of FOSS community. Everybody is free to use the OS of their choice.
It's just a personal point of view about coding style... some things like vertical spacing using the braces (at the section "Doom does not waste vertical space") are just the opposite of a readable source code (just in my opinion, of course, as someone that makes a lot of source code reviews of other people)
Too much arrogance: "where the internet lives" (the internet lives even on my little server at my house)... and also "you're accessing one of the most powerful server networks in the known Universe" (we "know" a very tiny part of the universe).
I'm very happy and productive with linux on my desktop (and dozens of servers).
I don't care if other people uses windows, mac or any other OS... It's free of choice and everybody should have that freedom. Period.
ps. Yes, I use mac and windows on my job (yes, newest versions) but I prefer, by far, my linux with KDE desktop... for many reasons I don't want to explain, because everybody have reasons for their preferences, and that's perfectly fine.
Of course there are innovations on many Apple products, but ALSO there are many obvious patents (such recent "invention" of scrollbars in touch screens that hide when no use).
Imagine if someone many years ago decided to patent a kind of generic "wireless communication device".
Am I the only one who doesn't see that as a problem?
No, you're not alone. Fortunately for many linux users.
Average users who don't want to learn new things about their systems are already well represented. They have several good options. What's so wrong with an OS for those who like learning and want to understand how the system works?
That's exactly what I say to many people: If you are comfortable with their current desktop, don't switch, because you will finish trying to mimic things. Linux desktops are not for everybody, but for people who enjoy to learn and understand things in deep. If you don't like to learn, linux is not for you, period.
For me, linux has been a fantastic learning experience for almost 10 years. Not only linux itself, but many technical details about software, algorithms, hardware low level protocols, and a huge list of interesting things. What's the problem with an OS that motivates that?
And please, KDE is not a windows clone, if people say that clearly they are not using KDE since years. Of course, there are themes of community trying to mimic windows look, but that is another history, and part of the power of KDE.
KDE is a really good Desktop environment, with a lot of good things for power users... I mean, a *lot* of customizations options, which is not good for everybody, but IS a big difference for many others. But, at the end, the most important thing is that people feel comfortable with their own desktop environment, whatever the name is. Be free is, also, let others be free.
Do you have a mac os x server license? If not, you can buy it, and you'll have a lot of services available, from podcast server to directory server, iCal server, and a lot of options.
Specially when I have the debugger with several watches; even more useful when debug JS code with FireBug or Chrome Developer Tools... I have two 25'' displays and I want another:D
I tried with one big monitor with ultra high resolution, but personally I prefer two high resolution displays (1950x1080).
So, the answer is absolutely yes
As the matter of fact, I like the design, just with few issues:
1) Fix the font color in text boxes: if the system's theme color is using light color for fonts (usually on dark themes) the result is very problematic to read (just right now for me!)
2) Bad alignment poll's options with FF on Linux: the text is below the radio button instead the right side.
I don't know why people say the site is slow, actually it's much faster than previous.
True. Also for any other language. Many people have the (wrong) idea that a good hammer makes a good carpenter.
True. Also, the world always needs options when talking about technology. This is the way we progress.

The Telepod computer, best computer interface ever :) ... (siri sucks compared with that beautiful CLI hehehe)
so, am I on an undefined happiness state? I don't use facebook neither... so, am I a terrorist? ... according to many recent "studies".
Not only on bandwidth use, that's relative with today's speeds, but the fact that there are many people who just take and don't share nothing.
people are abusive.
Anyway, from time to time I open my network on weekends when I'm not at home.

That's because *many* children uses tablets as a toy... just do the math.

Anyway, nice photos and ugly GUI to show it.
What this site really needs is an AI filter that sends all Samsung vs Apple news/comments directly to /dev/iamsickofthat
the camera is white with rounded corners...
Hell patent system.

Love KDE too (y) ...

It's clear that you've never written a document larger than 100 pages with multiple chapters and a lot of equations and figures. Yeah, I love LaTex.

I forgot: thanks for the effort and very nice job!
