    I think that authors need to set up their own online stores and sell their own copies if they intend to make money off their out of date books. Of course, many authors have signed away the right to do that.

    "Hot air" is a code word for bullshit which is the only thing WDC politicos know. They have no idea about what is valid and not in climate. They are on a mega-govenment control-all, tax all mode to empower themselves regardless if it is right or not.

    They vote in the ACA and it is a blundering disaster, but it makes no difference as they now can use the IRS even more effectively to control the citizens and extract more taxes, fees and licenses.

    Got a sneaking suspicion that US news outlets want to know if Obama administration people or their cohorts have been implicated in the documents before they start publishing.

    The real documents and investigative articles have not yet been published. The time will come.

    Pyxis (& similar supply cabinets) were primarily concerned with keeping unauthorized staff from taking prescription drugs from the cabinets and properly documenting the authorized clinicians who did access drugs.

    From what I've heard hear in this post, it seems security mostly stopped at that level of clinician access limitations.

    I've seen numerous curved screens with cracks on the edges. Makes me wonder why I would want one which has a "glass edge" to fall on, which seems a natural failure point.

    Rudolph Krueger, PE, was asked to bid on designing the details for the booster tank seals, as he had done seals many military projects including for fighters and satellites.

    Rudolph replied back that he didn't think the proposed design was viable and declined to bid.

    Rather than someone questioning a certified professional engineer as to "What is wrong with the concept.", no one ever asked

    That is where the first failure occurred.

    These agencies need to 'get smart.' Unfortunately, these agencies have tended to put their trust in electronic surveillance, as politicians put all sorts of restrictions on the use of spies. Politicians don't like "paying spies" and "dirty work" being done by spies, including "sabotage" and "silencing" targets.

    Very good points Jareth. I have said repeatedly, that the Board of Directors ultimately sets the course for the company & it includes the CEO (or Co-CEOs in the case of RIM.)

    The BoD was truly the decision maker which refused to react to the January 2007 announcement by Steve Jobs. Had Nokia jumped on board totally at that time, it might have been Nokia rather than Google's Android that was in the top 2 mobile OS's.

    In the early 80s a friend had his business run on an HP mini-something. At his house I saw the whopping 5MB disk drive the size of a very large 78 LP record player cabinet (you'ld have to remember the early 50s.) I only recall he said it cost over $10,000.

    With MS doing the ET thing, suddenly the incentive for Linux distributions to go serious UI and retail sales push as a "Secure Windows Alternative" is now becoming potentially very profitable for both home and business users.

    Would not be surprised to see a Linux Distribution go to full sales mode VERY soon, including TV ads.

    The reason to buy tough laptops and other similar equipment is the inevitable time loss when you are forced to upgrade before you are ready.

    eBay offers the intelligent buyer a way to get less expensive replacements and sometimes repair parts.

    The free marketplace economy works pretty well.

    If you really want to start limiting info gathering, I would suggest a 2nd phone for digital work.

    Your first phone might just be analog voice only, or at least you don't do digital on it.

    Move the digital phone from ATT to Verizon every month back and forth with a new SIM card and disposable email addresses & new phone numbers if you really want to limit access.

    Connecting through your lapto through a cell phone hotspot connection isolates it from WIFI snooping.
