the inherent problem i see in people's perceptions of ideologies is that they are based on the actions of others. people are responsible for their own. you can be an environmentalist and not "vote" for an environmentalist (which are not on the ballot, anyhow). Do not base your opinions of an ideology on other people's actions. other people are insane, hypocritical, and at best, human. i am an environmentalist becasue i believe in social and personal responsibility; that we can have everything we want and not fuck one thing up, if done right. i also "enslave" 3 pets, neuter and spay them, go to the zoo, and am skeptical of peta. be your own person and stop bitching about "them" versus "us".

Well if social security is paying for people to help do that themselves (and is about to die) and if the US has a dreadfully low savings rate (which wouldve helped it live longer) then the Japanese have bypassed their enire "what do we do with old people" problem using discipline and technology. They already have a massive savings rate and now have the robots to spend that money on. Problem solved. American car makers (and the rest of corporate america), however, appear to believe that social problems affect them little (which is a mystery considering the poor education that banes the corporate world, the environmetal problem it ignores and will have to pay for, and the unions it got out of trying to monopolize) and will continue to produce more crap that only encourages mindless consumption, as opposed to solutions...like the roomba.

I like em long. Why would he even make an argument about this? There are short games and long games both available. This is like "making the case for taller cheesburgers" or something. It's nonsense.
