If I had option of Droid on T-Mobile, I would get one today. The only reason I did not get one is Verizon. I am not willing to sell my soul to either Verizon or AT&T - even if that means not carrying a mobile phone altogether.
eh. So, I have it mixed up the other way round. But did you read what they said in that context? Most of the other devices were routed to another site and they claimed 95.8% of mobile traffic was from iphone. Gimme a fucking break if you can't see my point.
And here is their blatant claim about 95.8% of ALL mobile views -
"So far in 2008, the iPhone, iPhone 3G, and iPod touch account for some 95.8% of all mobile views on the full site."
No I did not. The iphone queries (along with few others - can't remember) were redirected to the 'mobile-phone optimized' site, while BB queries were served from the main site. The statistics were posted for 'mobile-phone optimized' site.
I wish I could find the post again - but engadget has only 13742 post on iphone.
"A ZIP + 4 code uses the basic five-digit code plus four additional digits to identify a geographic segment within the five-digit delivery area, such as a city block, a group of apartments, an individual high-volume receiver of mail or any other unit that could use an extra identifier to aid in efficient mail sorting and delivery." (the keyword is "within")
The way I see it, the definition of smart phone used in the article is to make sure iphone comes out on top. It is back when engadget suddenly declared '99% of smartphone traffic on our mobile-specific website is from iphone' - the reason was that blackberry was identifying itself as full browser while engadget only targetted mobile specific browser and did the calculation.
The address you see on the envelop can be (slightly) different than the one stored as part of your profile, because, most likely, as part of their mass-mailing program, they would do address standardization/correction and generate a more accurate address.
There is a difference between US zip code system and Canadian one.
In the US, there is zip5 + zip4 (total 9 digits). If you use both, you are talking about 2-3 houses on a street. This is equivalent to Canadian 3+3 system. But a five digit US zip code may mean anything from one business building to very large number depending on the density.
And overprice computers!! I predict 2012 will be the year Apple becomes the platform of choice for those who want to spend a lot of money on shinys, want to feel smug about it and hang around starbucks... Did I miss anything?
Well said. I am generally pretty good at reading maps, contours and other stuff when I am hiking. Even when I am driving, when I have to stop and consult a printed map, I can figure my way out easily.
But when it comes to car navigation systems, I find myself having to pay way more attention, while the system should be lot more easier for somebody who is also required to pay all his/her attention to the road.
One of the reasons I do not use car navigation devices is that - I want a simple, minimal system.
Well said. I have seen this time and again - only people I have seen criticizing droid are iphone/mac/apple cult. But I take it as a positive sign for Droid - it's doing something right to piss off all the fanbois.
Not sure you looked it right. For me, at least my complete profile was available to the whole world, even though, previously, I had set it to make it as private as possible.
I was not worried about exposing some details to the world as I had posted very minimum to start with (effectively, only name and profile pic). But what pissed me off completely was that, during this change, they defaulted it to EVERYONE. If that's not a shitty way to apply 'more' privacy changes, I don't know what is.
here comes whining fanbois. FFS - we do expect certain standards here. And if that's too much to ask, at least a little self-respect from Taco. Fanboism is one thing, but posting this on main page?

True, but what's new here?! You are saying this as if other countries and governments are working with correct priorities. We don't have to go too far to see that.

Thank god for T-Mobile.
>> As I said, that case was impossible to solve with "more manpower".
I normally use "9 month pregnancy" rule - you can't deliver a baby in one month by using nine men instead of one.
>>developing your own operating system from scratch?
Like Apple?
Boo, fucking, hoo - to you too.
>>Apple is not Microsoft.
Not at all. In fact, they are worse than MS.
So, anti-competitive is okay, but monopoly is not? I see.
Deliberately breaking their own software for no other reason than greed is okay for Apple, but it's not okay for MS? makes sense.
Wow! If my this reply is redundant, at least have balls to mark all above redundant too. (I know, this will go the same way in 3...2...1...)

Hey, I was not pulling that out of my ass. I work on similar system right now and know something about zip codes :-)
Now about your theory, here is a better explanation (from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ZIP_code#ZIP_.2B_4)
"A ZIP + 4 code uses the basic five-digit code plus four additional digits to identify a geographic segment within the five-digit delivery area, such as a city block, a group of apartments, an individual high-volume receiver of mail or any other unit that could use an extra identifier to aid in efficient mail sorting and delivery." At the most, the zip5 (and not full).

Wow! Thinking of that, you can also take snapshots from the web cam and store it in wiki or something - for reference and/or tracking purpose.
Oh wait...

WRONG! THE entire point of itunes is to be able to sync your iphone, download and install apps etc.

While you can speak for the editors? How rich of you!
And As a reader, I do have right to let editors know what I like and don't. If you don't like it, don't reply. Now GTFO.
See? It works both ways.
