Umm... if Apple does not want to accede to regime, then why the fuck they don't develop their own R&D and technology instead of using somebody elses? do you even know what you are talking about?
As per one of the documentaries on BBC, a local cop in Amsterdam clearly mentioned that it is not legal in anyway - it's just that they treat it as a minor annoyance and do make a big deal about it. As long as they know who are selling it/what they are selling/who are using it and nobody does it in the streets, they are fine - coz it's under control.
>> Seeing it's taking forever to get FM radio added to the iPhone
WTF? That's because ipod and iphone are shitty devices (yeah, mod me troll for that), and there are a LOT of other devices out there with built-in FM receivers for years. Way to go creating a standard out of an inferior device and extrapolating it for everything else.
Well said. As for your IMAX experience, you are right. IMAX recently became more available than, say, 3 years back. The reason is their IMAX Digital format which is not the same as IMAX you were expecting. That has allowed them to 'fit' more multiplex with IMAX kits. It may arguably still be better than the regular 3D stuff though.
In other words, melodrama. Cameron is pretty good at that.
But I am sorry, I did not have a single moment where I felt emotionally connected to what was going on. I was just looking everywhere else and appreciating the details, the imagination and the technical aspect of it (and noticing that only the blue guys had 4 limbs).
WTF? It's like saying somebody should buy an F1 car just because it's fastest, while they actually need something which does not cost them their house and children, not require special fuel and can run on ordinary road. Way to go on a tangent!
If we hold the right to criticize Google and Yahoo, we also hold the right to criticize any and every corporate doing the same shit. Where were you when we discussed this earlier??? Fanboism is one thing, defending them no matter what is... wait - it's the same thing.
WTF? Not that I hold/. as epitome of geek site, but are you seriously saying crap like engadget and apple-sucking gizmodo are better? I don't want to into details, but why don't you get the fuck off to those sites, like, NOW?
I can afford many of them. But I don't want to sell my soul to a company known for it's lockdowns. So, why don't you just shut up about how much you are earning?
I have got an old Dell box with 1.5TB (1TB +.5TB). It runs unlimited Ubuntu server which serves all the media to all other computers at my home (4 of them - do you want to know if I can afford them?). It is also connected to my 100 inch HD projector. AFAIK, every Tom, Dick and Herry are selling such a system.
And I did have a nice holiday. Your post just made it great.
I am more worried about content of the stories, not just what topic stories are on. Dishing out fanboy blogposts as stories happens far to frequently in Apple's case than anything else.
heh.. We used to have to get out of the lake at six o'clock in the morning, clean the lake, eat a handful of 'ot gravel, code twenty hour day at mill for tuppence a month, come home, and Dad would thrash us to sleep with a broken bottle, if we were lucky!
"David Anderegg, a professor of psychology at Bennington College, says that merely mentioning terms like nerd or geek serves to perpetuate the stereotype. The words are damaging, much like racial epithets, he says, and should be avoided."
You just defined Apple right there!

Either they loose it or tighten it. What other option do they have?
>> Hawaii is almost as far from the continental US as India
Since when 2400mi become almost same as 7500mi?

True. Sony Ericsson has done it with XPERIA Pureness, not sure what the screen is though.
Wow, man. If Apple copies, it's inspiration. Somebody else innovates, it's based on previous research. Way to go.

Like Mac in the desktop/laptop/netbook market? Or like Safari in browser market?
Avatar is a sci-fi movie. Guy Ritchie movie is chick-flick.
Can you pass me whatever you are smoking?
>>When I want fluff, I just want fluff.
I have no issue with that. Issues happen when the fluff is hailed at the holy grail of film making.

It makes much more sense if you replace Google with Apple in your comment ( - except for "don't be evil" part).

A bragging Apple fanboi! What a novelty.

I think there is a 'space' key on the iphone keyboard somewhere...... Oh wait!

Sorry. They both are same. I stay away from any offspring of Ma Bell.
Thanks. Did not think about that option.
But two problems:
1. Will definitely have to get a phone on contract and ebay it - if I am on their network for long time, I would rather I use their subsidy. And I am not good at ebaying stuff.
2. (More importantly) Unfortunately, the phone wont be able to use T-Mobile 3G network. Here is more detail on it - http://forums.t-mobile.com/t5/Non-T-Mobile-Devices/Motorla-Milestone-GSM-ver-of-Verizon-Droid-A855/td-p/272760
