Remember how much these things cost. These are expensive compared to the range of calculators one can buy. It''s not like everyone has $100 to kepp plunking on a new calculator. The development and use of computer microprocessors greatly exceed something like a graphing calculator. There is still demand for the lower priced and lower performing stuff. tried and true...don't necessarily need the new bells and whistles - as a computer user may.
If you and everyone that is an American citizen thinks like that, we have absolutely no hope in gaining back rights taken from us. we have no way of reversing things like the Patriot Act. We have no way of being _free_ as our lady liberty meant us to be.
is that we need to fight this infringing legislation by our votes, tax dollars, and our consumer dollars. Fight the supporters of this legislation by avoiding their products. Use alternatives that promote free speech and _total_ fair use.
I'm sick of America being bullied around by the corporations. We are the people. We have the power here.
Fight with you pockets...and your _paper_ ballots (unless of course Diebold has their way with the government.)
surpressing the damn prices? myabe if it were cheaper, more people would fly it and it would finally get enough funding for adequate silencing research.
But it's not like they are using them to model exactly. Those just happen to be so much of a standard that you can use it everywhere. I think they were focusing moreso on the popularity of the formats rather that the inner workings and patents, etc...
Since 30 companies are going after it, maybe some open source folk can come up to the plate to please them all.
Well it isn't necessary for many simple internet uses like e-mail and such. Why pay the extra money if you really don't need it? Many times dial-up is given toll-free through job or university. Plus you have less worries about being hacked...if that matters to you.
They should look into implementing a proprietary method of coding their receivers and such...and not charge customers for this "upgrade." Only then should they continue these lawsuits.
That's why I'm makin' money off of Mr. Chappelle's stupid jokes, bitch. I got people pickin' up the greatest hits left and right. Goddam, I mean people who didn't even know who I was are callin' themselves the ol' boy Rick James. But get it right...
I'm Rick James, bitch... The original
And I Think Different. I have an Apple - G3 Pismo
Bill Gates and FAT don't got shit on me, Steve, and HFS, bitchhh
that's the problem. The lack a standard. They're always upgrading and putting things out of whack. I mean what was the deal with the "upgrades" that really were downgrades? That says a lot. They've got a lot of work to do beyond tunes identifying if they want my business...
your argument is inline with mine, except that I don't agree that AT&T's service works as well as my Nextel. Granted, Nextel does have its quirks (premium price tag - at least initially, and limited service coverage), but where I know it works, it works. The price wasn't much of an issue...since I got a phone for free with my plan...and that my rate has been decreased by $15 a month since I've been with them for a year. That and I get a customer service rep. within a minute - almost everytime. And service is great within coverage areas...dropped calls are nothing like when I had Sprint and AT&T...etc. Nextel just works for me. They have the perfect motto..."Done" The bells and whistles should only come after you've got the back-end working right...
I'd like to see when they introduce the new feature that allows me to actually make a call...and maybe a new feature that allows me to promptly speak with a customer rep.
I could see this idea working in one of those indie coffee houses that play music that no one has heard of.
You can hear some interesting music at a shop and be kinda forced to go around asking the people what the name of the song is etc... If they're playing all of their music on a database that people can buy burned cds from, it would take a lot of the hassle of having to search for it. It would be even better if they could put the CD-TEXT, ID3, whatever...so you know exactly what the songs are...
This comment was copied and pasted from the article about the new HP calculator...

"Woah woah...GPL? That'll be $699 please"
And all that proves is that we've allowed 1984 to happen.

This is why I won't use Gmail. That's the solution right there...
