Sort of the same idea as getting your foot in the door and keep plugging the product to an interrested prospect who hasn't yet made up his mind.
Take a good look at her flight deck. This ship is designed for STOL jet aircraft such as Harriers. Conventional jet aircraft such as F14-F16's wouldn't have enough runway to takeoff or land. You could manage a fleet of small Cessnas such as 172/182 aircraft or even aerobatic stuff such as Pit's specials though.
The Ancient world had the right idea. The library of Alexandria had a copy of EVERY book that they could get their hands on. Libraries should be exhempt from copyright law. There should be a lending library that has EVERY book ever printed (or scanned in electronic form) saved so it is never lost. Everyone should have access to these materials, even if they need to be in the library or connected to it via the web. I'm OK with some form of digital rights protection to keep copy access at bay to view library materials, at least as long as the work is subject to copyright. The important thing is not to let ANY book disappear from this world.
S.J. is sort of a publilc figure, so he really can't protect his image from becoming a product. Not anymore than the president of the US could. Anybody want an Obama bobble-head for their rear deck?
The sooner Apple signs up other carriers besides AT&T (or just completely OPENS the damn thing) the better for their sales. The major thing driving Droid phone sales is that you can have one WITHOUT the AT&T albertross around your neck. Consumer reports and others have rated wireless networks, Tmobile and Verizon rated much better than you know who. Many people have said they will buy an iPhone when they can use ANYONE BUT AT&T.
It might be interresting to repeat the experiment with a GPS logger as well. I've always wondered just how they route my package and how long it really sits at a depot before being moved on. You would need a very sensitive GPS for this to work as the package will be indoors most of the time and getting a GPS fix inside a moving vechile would depend on the package being near a window or a door.
If the game takes place during WWII, and the setting involves combat in Europe, then the use of the swastika would be correct. You simply can't take it out of the setting.
How about cutting some metal foil into letters, glue them onto your undies, and spell out a message for the TSA? You know, tell them what to do with themselves?
Cell phone use in an automobile has it uses. If I've been in an accident, or witnessed one I would want to be able to call the police to help. Same to report junk on the road, a fire, if I spotted a wanted car (amber alert) etc. This would throw out the good with the bad. Cell phones are not the only distraction. How about a device to melt down lipstick being applied while driving? Changing radio stations, talking to passengers, crying babies, reading a map? Meanwhile talking on your CB or Ham radio isn't covered by any anti cell phone laws (they are different services) and considered a public service. Are you going to tell the bus drivers, taxi cab drivers, firemen and police they can't use their radios in the vechiles? So long as you do not need to take your eyes off the road (and a hands free phone helps) TALKING on a phone (not dialing unless the phone has voice command) shouldn't be a problem for someone that has a good driving record. I'd prohibit cell phone use by anybody that has less than a clean driving record. They also should not be allowed to have any passengers in the car with them.
The Gnash free replacment for Flash will hopefully catch up and be useful, which will solve this problem. Open source codecs or implementations of codecs can be just as good as the closed source ones, as Flac and Ogg have proved.
Even if it IS a meteor crater you might never find the meteor remains. Meteor crater in AZ is a good example of this. If you can find 'shocked' quartz then you have your smoking gun. Iridium traces are another. If the impact was long enough ago only parts of the crater will remain exposed, the rest having been erroded by time, wind, and rain. Were there old mines in the area?
This kind of stuff will probably accelerate Linux Mint toward their Debian based distro. Right now I'm running Linux Mint Debian on my thinkpad, if they come out with a 64 bit version I'll migrate my desktop to that unless I install Debian Testing first.
Early 3D using color separation was crap and gave you a headache because the view was into an unreal world. Some 3D films took advantage of the unreal colors required by the color separation though, such as 'spy kids 3'. Later films using polarized separation glasses got around the unreal color problems, but with poor plots they were still 'B' movies. Remember 'space hunter' and 'jaws 3'? The 3D films made for the theme parks really showcased what the technology could do well, such as the 'terminator' at Universal, or 'I shrunk the kids' at Disney. Active shutter glasses provide the best separation effect, the film that really showcased this was the iMax production of 'The polar express'. CGI animation films can provide very good 3D as the effects are all generated by computer ray tracing and the results can't be spoiled by bad camera angles. 'Toy story 3' and 'polar express' would be good examples here.
Time and again in the past this country has shown what it can do when up against the wall. Coming out of the great depression to build the greatest war machine the world had ever seen to defeat the axis powers and become a world power. To start from almost zero in the space race behind the Soviet Union to put a man on the moon. We need to see this as the threat it is and do something. We have the tools and the ability. We just need the assholes in congress to stop their infighting and come together on a plan.
I think it is a bit unfair to call the choice of the Power PC processor a mistake. At the time the 68K family was running out of gas and Motorola and IBM were pouring lots of money into the development of the RISC processor. RISC is a confusing acronom. What's important about RISC ISN'T the limited instruction set, but the fact that the small instruction set allows hardwiring of the processor rather than having to use a rom driven micro sequencer and lots of micro code. As Moore's law progressed and more transistors could be stuffed onto a chip you could build a CISC processor the same way. As a result the advantage the PPC had was slowly eclipsed and Intel's x86 designs pulled ahead. But there was a window of time where the PPC was a more powerfull choice. And Apple was in that window.
Benjamin Franklin said it best, "Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety."

They WOULD have got busted if Bucanian hadn't run for president, which confused some voters in P.B. county FL.

Linux Mint is already doing a 'rolling release' with a distro based on Debian testing.

Unix has been at the end of it's life cycle for about 20 years now and it's still here!

Guess they will be blocking Google and Youtube

who will be the first to see the 'blue screen of death' on their phone?
looks somethink like Jamie from Mythbusters build to shoot cans of coke!

Well if the movie was "Rocky Horror" then the audience wearing masks would be expected!

because both vechicles were about the same weight and horsepower. Now if it was a pinto trying to stop a F550 Dualle things would have been different.

If it was a think pad the thief could have just yanked out the hard disk and mailed him that. Would have taken a lot less of his time to do.
