discussing yet another government whitewash. So, how many people are going to vote out the incumbents over this? Or any other abuse? One...maybe two percent? Nobody is thinking about the PATRIOT act when they might be able to vote themselves another tax cut. Tell me. Where does the blame really lay???
Then I would recommend that all of you try to convince your neighbors not to re-elect the people who passed this law. With a 95%-98% re-election rate, what reason does a politician have to listen to the voters of all people, when big time contributors have much "better" suggestions?
All this leads me to believe he's not serious.(It took all this?) If this is what a troll is, then, man, he fits the bill. I think he's just having a bit of fun. Hell, I got sucked in before, too. That's entertainment.
That you might have my information doesn't bother me all that much. How you use it could be another story. Identity theft being so easy and devastating points out a major flaw in our system of verification. We should have a free flow of information. We just need to limit the damage caused by improper use. Simply hiding it is just "security through obscurity" which has proven not to work very well most of the time. I shouldn't have to fear giving out my personal information.
Well...After skimming the article(and noticing that the guy looks very little like Conan O'brian(sp)) I didn't see anything about the UN. Am I missing a tie-in somewhere here?
I understand, but to me, it doesn't matter who the accused is. I still need an admission or hard evidence to use the word guilty. My suspicions of one's guilt are my own, and I do, like many others, tend to favor the underdog. And corporate crime being what it is...well...it goads me into jumping the gun also. I...we need to be more careful. We don't want to end up like them.
But Hitler is dead. He won't be hurting anybody anytime soon. At this point, we have a more pressing problem. We have people voting for and re-electing politicians that they hate. Maybe so they can avoid taking responsibility for their vote. So they blame the system. The very one that they built and maintain. This is a worldwide problem. It's not exclusive to the the U.S. The U.S. appears powerful now only because the rest of the world is weak and divided. So even I will quit complaining about American/European imperialism. When you're the biggest kid on the block, this is the kind of behavior I expect. When everyone gets their act together, it will no longer be an issue.
So very true. There really are no innocents. To anyone(in a purported democracy) that complains about their gov't or corps, I've been saying for over a year here that they are the ones voting for these politicians and buying the Nikes or whatever. Most of them will hear nothing of it and will continue bashing away. Didn't the American troops march some of the German citizenry to see the mass graves built by their gov't? Are the Americans/Europeans going to need to be forced to see the atrocities of their own governments? At this point, we know that the majority is still in denial.
I'm on your side. Jail is for dangerous people. However, you will find that you're "talking to the hand". 90% of the people here are going to flame the hell out of you. The taste for vengence is just too desirable for anybody to let go. Justice has no place here. We want our revenge. Soon our prisons will be completely filled with non-violent offenders. They'll have to release the really nasty people to make more room for them. It will soon be safer on the inside. If you want to make a fast buck, and if you have no conscience, invest in the the prison construction and infrastructure industry.
What really blows me away is the public acceptance, or at least apathy, of companies like MS because it's more practical to look the other way.
Good to know someone else sees where the real blame lies. Note to others: Stamp this on your forehead, backside, or whereever to remind you everytime you want to blame the governemt OR the corporations for these...umm..."events".
You're right. What we should do is just put CherryOS, reversed engineered source and all, up on BitTorrent and let them sue. That would be an interesting case. It would be like you calling the cops to report that someone stole the car you jacked the previous night.. Has this thing been released yet? Is anybody going to buy it?
The new dark age is upon us. I hope that some day we can find an effective way to protect oursleves from each other. Kind of wierd how the U.S. withdrew from the treaty. What did they say? "Screw you. It doesn't apply to us."? Funny how they seem to be bound to those treaties that take away our rights. Just another day in paradise. The best of luck to you.
In more other news... The MPAA boyccot commitee decided to not take any action against the industry for at least 4 more years. "We have a room full of lawyers deciding our next step as we speak.", a spokesman said.
They'll more than make up for it with all the toothpaste, detergent, household items, etc. that they also sell. And since they have their fingers in the porno pie, good luck getting peopleto boycott that. These poeple have action in the entire economy, not just entertainment. Besides their will be no boycott until Star Wars is finished. And if they ever make a "Green Acres" movie, I might not boycott either:-)
Hell, if you want to bankrupt the government, just quit buying illegal drugs. That alone should take out about 20% of the economy. It will wipe out whole prohibition oriented industries.
You don't sacrifice personal rights to international politics. At least you're not supposed to. Besides this is about money. It makes the whole thing stink even more. However, the voters in both counrties have no problem with this apparently.

Well, let's just cut out the unnecessary crap with your identity, and you just give me your money.
Sure, Just give me a chance to fire up the ol' printer here. You can have all I can make.
...it's people on the Hill trying to get re-elected dragging the our country through the mud.
They don't have to try very hard. That's all I'm saying.

But there has been a very large number of infringement claims that never made it to court, becuase the guilty party gave in.
So giving in makes you guilty?? The word accused might be more appropriate. Please, don't fall into the trap.
Uh huh

Business as usual, right?
If less people consume their products...
:-)

Granted this is not even close to murder, but the software companies potentially lost millions of dollars.
To compare the loss of ANY amount of money to murder in any way is despicable.
