    Because we should use whatever abilities we have to put an end to the blatant abuses perpetrated by the authorities. Turns out they are just as crooked as the "crooks". Under the present circumstances, we need to resist any incursions by any means. I'm thinking, cheap homemade tasers for everybody. Time to fight fire with fire.

    The only thing that needs protection is the right to use and distribute. There is a need for protection against those who would lock up the code in their own IP that could prevent the original creator from using his/her own work. But only complete abolishment can provide that. Everything else? Meh... Just sounds like control freaks with fat egos.

    Ya know, I used to be totally unsympathetic on the subject of addition, until I read about the real physical effects it has on the brain, and its chemical balance. Even the "psychological" ones. I still believe the cure can only come from within, but now I have a better understanding of the difficulties involved. Melding spiritual discipline into the physical universe is a daunting task.

    Frankly this sounds like a good idea to me. I really don't have a problem with it. Someone please explain why I should.

    Because being able to freely move about with out molestation is an essential freedom, which has been violated throughout the ages. It's time to say, No more! That's why. If you wish to give up your freedom, that's okay. But don't take away mine, please.

    This is the way I see things, if you want free Airplay, one needs radio stations and DJ's.

    They don't get free airplay at all. All that time is bought and paid for through payola and other schemes that are mostly off the books to evade taxes, and of course to avoid paying out royalties. This is why they hate the internet and are trying so hard to protect the gatekeepers. This is a criminal organization whose only purpose is to skim off a piece of the action. They do little more than hijack the trucks. And now they own the trucking company and have had the competition outlawed by means of copyright. So they will accept the internet when it becomes more like old time media where they serve up the goods. First step is to put an end to this P2P thing. And that might be fairly easy to do as long as we remain on the corporate leash...er wire.

    We have a government that we pay taxes for. Make it a public infrastructure investment. It would be one of the better ones. This what we are supposed to use public services for. For when the private sector can't/won't do it. The choice is ours.
