Why is this flamebait? The parent was a valid statement that some moderator didn't agree with. I can only metamoderation comes up for me on the parent.
I really doubt that if fraud is found it will have any effect on Bush winning his second election. The amount of data they are requesting is huge. So first they need to get this data in a timely manner which I doubt happens. Then they need to sort it. All this has to be done before the Electoral College meets in December.
Now if widespread fraud is found, it will greatly impact the next election.
Insightful?????? WTF! This is pure troll and flamebait.
Some people need to get out of college campuses and into the real world. Judging by the bumper stickers and conversations I'd say that 70-80% of the people I work with are for Bush. I may be a bit biased but from what I've seen IBM doesn't hire and keep people with mental illness or a lack of cognitive processes.
I think the saddest thing about this whole election is all the hate you hear for Bush and yet Kerry can just barely make it a close race? That there tells me that Kerry has problems
I think it will be a great day when the Republican party loses the Christian Fundamentalist because they are just too extreme. Funny now that more information is coming out about Iraq that Democrats have pulled supported from the war in Iraq. I'm sure someone will point out the flawed intelligence but we had no reliable way to verify it. Iraq had kicked out the weapons inspectors and/or prevented them from doing their jobs. Still seems fishy to me that if Iraq had no WMD's, why did they interfere with inspections so much? Also don't forget that Iraq is one of the few countries who has used WMD's since modern knowledge and ethics have evolved.
About the only thing that makes sense in the parent is that classic definitions of the parties no longer apply. Republicans used to be for less Government and very pro-business. Now they are for more Government and selectively pro-business.
Wow we have some moderator who is more biased here then in the Politics section. Just why in the hell is it a troll to say I don't like tabbed browsing and when I'm working with multiple windows including things besides browser windows that alt-tab works far better then any other key combonation?
Joy of tabbed browsing? I've tried and found it very annonying. I like alt-tab between multiple windows at work, many times it is several IE windows. I tried friefox's tabbed browsing and it just didn't work for me.
So is Michael Moore the only one allowed to make money off of his propaganda? I'd say that this organization is at least more honest with the money then Moore has ever been. They want you to donate to thier political organization to get the DVD. Moore just wants money for his next Big Mac.
If you had bothered to watch the trailers you would see that 41.11C is what they are claiming the brain begins to die at. I'm no medical person so I have no idea if that is accurate.
In typical Michael Moore fashion he said one thing but did nothing. Sure he said to download the movie, but did he make a bittorrent or put it up for download from his site?
The more populous states have different problems. If we went off pure population then we might have a few shining examples of glory, but most of the country would be in shambles because the population was smaller and couldn't get Federal funding.
Please learn and understand the Electoral System! I for one am glad it isn't a popular vote.
For those who say that thier vote doesn't count because they live in an area with a different political view, I beg to differ. Make sure you vote. If a canidate were to win by 80% then they are far less likely to be moderate, if one wins by a hair then they know that they have to be more careful.
Sometimes the moderators really amaze me. At best the parent should have been ignored, at worse marked Troll or Flamebait.
Yes the U.S.A. has WMD's, but what so many liberals forget is that we haven't signed agreements saying we won't have Nuclear weapons. The U.S.A. has also gotten rid of chemical and biological weapons. Granted our Government could be lying but we haven't used chemical weapons to put down a Native American revolt!
I'm looking at my Dell 2001FP and I have never had any mouse lag. I'm running a Logitech USB mouse. Since I've had this monitor I've used an ATI Radeon 9500 Pro and now an ATI X800 Pro with no lag on either of them.
Maybe in your state it is predominantly non-republican, but not in Colorado. I voted rather late in the evening in our primary and the ladies running the show were talking about the number of new voters. They said almost everyone who registered that day was Republican, now granted it has a lot to do with getting Coors elected.
I for one am getting tired of what Bush or Kerry did or did not do 30 years ago. What I want to know is current events like an explanation for Kerry's current voting record for the last year? Why he chose not to resign as a Senator?
I am really getting sick of people spouting this BS in articles like this lately.
The electoral college system was designed because 200 years ago, it was the only logical way to do things. You didn't have cars, planes, or busses. All you had was horses.
I really suggest you read the Federal Papers before you make yourself look uneducated. There was no single reason the electoral process was chosen. Distance and communication was one. Another was to avoid foreign powers having an effect on the election of the President. They used words like "prostitue the vote" and assumed an Elector would be better educated then the general public and could avoid foriegn manipulation. Yet another reason was to balance the small states vs the large states. Don't belive me, then take a look at the information from the US Government on the electoral college. Also note that the electoral college is made up of the number of Senators and Represenitives.
Nowdays one of the reasons for the electoral college is gone, but not all of them.
What exactly is your point here besides an attack? I'm sure there are some people who meet all the criteria you assume mean a Bush support. I'm also sure there are many who meet none of them. What we have is mostly educated IT related people representing a cross section.
Actually you have it backwards. I don't know a single Kerry supporter. Everyone I know is either for Bush or one of the mindless drones screaming Anybody But Bush.
My officemate has a picture of Bush on his wall and most of the conversations I hear around work are pro-Bush and we have several thousand people working here in Boulder.
What is not factually true is newspaper headlines Moore showed in his work of fiction. The newspaper stated something along the lines of "Gore should have won recount in Florida", yet that paper never aired that headline. If he is willing to fake something like that, what else has he lied about? Moore wouldn't know the truth if it reached out and smacked him.
Why is this insightful? So the original is saying the election is about the actions Bush took before/during/after 9/11 while he is the Presidenter or Kerry nearly 40 years ago? I'd like to have Bush during 9/11 compared to Kerry's voting record for the last year.
Oh wait, just how many times did Kerry vote, guess he was too busy doing other things.
The only thing Nader is good for these days is confusing democrats to vote for him. I'd love to see him on the ballot but really overall he just doesn't matter.
"Ms. Sulzberger doesn't count the votes, or get to see them. A business entrusted with the kind of power that Omega Technologies has ought to be above reproach, preferably non-partisan or bipartisan, but definitely transparent and accountable. Omega Technologies, however, seems to be none of those."
Actually it is just as bad if not worse that she has donated large sums of money to the Democrats. Omega Techologies just counts the votes, the New York Time influences thousands if not hundreds of thousands of people. Her bias could easily lead us to ruin, just as easily as fraud in vote counting could.
I also find it amusing how many people here think Bush can't win without cheating. Yet look at the latest polls.
I really wish I had moderator points right now and could rate the parent post as a Troll. IBM has had very few layoffs in the last 5 years, I know because I've been here. The next thing that is totally wrong is that IBM is at the highest level of employeement since 1992/93 when it had a bit over 350,000 people! If IBM had layed off 50,000 in the last 5 years then this year's numbers would not be a record.
Comments like this make me wonder if the parent poster either really screwed up and got fired from IBM or just hates big succesfully companies.

I just sent the below email to the O'Reilly address.
Mr. O'Reilly,
It has come to my attention that Parry Aftab is claiming she will be on your excellent show this month. I'd like to make sure you are aware of the cyber abuse she is a part of while at the same time claiming to be a "leading expert" on Internet privacy and cyber-abuse. The domain katie.com was registered 1996 by Katie Jones and in the year 2000 Penguin published a book by Katie Tarbox with the title katie.com. The original title of the book of was going to be girl.com, but at the time girl.com was an online porn site. The title was changed to katie.com this shows that Penguin did research the domains and chose to use katie.com knowing that it was already registered. Now this has destroyed the ability of Katie Jones to use her domain. In conversations between Katie Jones and Parry Aftab, Parry urged Katie to donate the domain because it really belonged to Katie Tarbox because of the book title.
I would love to see you grill her on why an expert on Internet abuse would condone and attempt to use emotional blackmail in this manner. This is a clear case of abuse with malice forethought by Penguin, yet Katie Jones is a private citizen without the resources of a company like Penguin. The only hope she has is for influential and respected members of the Press, like yourself, to show this blatant abuse to the world.
This is an issue that I would love to see a good strong precedent set for because I own the domain of my last name and do not want to ever have to go through something like this myself.
The most important thing here is that nissan.com was being used to generate revenue. If Mr Nissan hadn't switched to making money off of car advertisments he would have had a much stronger case. As is, he clearly intended to benefit off of the Nissan car brand.

The Rolemaster PDF's are much better priced! I paid $20 for both the HARP main book and Magic book.

So close to the truth. Of course hardly anyone at IBM lives in Boulder and the plant isn't located in downtown Boulder, closer to Longmont.
My officemate has a picture of Bush on his wall and most of the conversations I hear around work are pro-Bush and we have several thousand people working here in Boulder.
