The problem is that the ipad isn't a higher quality look feel, or experience anymore. It's "luxury" because apple tells you it is - not because it delivers anything resembling an improved experience.
The ipad doesn't offer a superior experience anymore. it offers a much higher price that people are now unwilling to pay for a device that will likely only be relevant for a year. If they want to stay in the market, they need to cut the price significantly and actually start competing.
...and yet nobody has made a successful steam machine.
People who understand Linux will just use their favorite distro and keep doing whatever they're doing. People who don't understand Linux will only see that they're giving up 2/3rds of their steam library if they move to a steambox and keep using Windows because it plays all their games. In the end, nobody has a compelling reason to care about the steambox except valve who has lost money on it.
If Apple were to give you fail market value for your device I wouldn't have a problem with it. However they don't even come close. Only the most extreme brand loyalists (read: idiots) think selling their device back to apple at a microscopic fraction of its actual worth is a good idea.
Essentially, Cook feels it's his responsibility to underpay you for your used device so he can turn a profit on the components. Apple's recycling program is a joke. Assuming your device is in working order, you'll make more on ebay than you will giving it back to them.
There's nothing wrong with how you use a phone, but there are advantages to considering alternatives.
Many of us now perform the majority of our communication through text or email. It's convenient, non-intrusive, and good for situations where immediate situational knowledge is not required. A smartphone is well suited to this, a flip phone makes even basic messaging a chore unless it has a keyboard. Unlike a phone call, I don't worry if I'm disturbing someone by messaging them at strange hours or if they're in a situation where they can't respond, because a text can just be ignored until it's convenient for the other party to deal with it.
Essentially, phone calls are for time sensitive and/or urgent communications. Texts are for everything else.
Yes, they've always targeted the premium market... and that's why they're starting to lose. The pricing they have was only reasonable when they were the only worthwhile smartphone on the market. This is no longer the case. They wouldn't be releasing a cheaper iphone if they weren't trying to tap the budget market, but it's far too late for that now.
Apple's consumer rape is not sustainable. Even they've finally figured that out.
When did we start listening to EXECUTIVES about what it takes to be good at a job? These are the parasites that don't do any real work, but claim all the credit for things done by other people.
It's time gawker got kicked in the balls for their shitty reporting practices. My only regret is that the hulkster is not allowed to use the piile-driver on the CEO in the court room following the verdict.

If you think that then you don't know what you're talking about.
no, they're just paying for the development of the OS (you know, the expensive part) which nobody gives a shit about.
uuuh, there's no point in buying one because uuuh the machines available already do what the steam machine is promising - only better.

What you're going to see is steam machines flop horribly and wind up costing valve millions in the process.

If it wasn't for humans, was I using the version for robots all this?

When sourceforge stops injecting adware in to the binaries you can say there's nothing wrong with sourceforge.
That's true, but it's such a boring move. This is a special case, he should kick it up another notch.

"So if it makes too many mistakes or gets into too many accidents it looses its license."
You now have one point on your spelling license.
Except that's exactly what he did. In order to escape the wood chipper he ran away and hid - not that I blame him. It's a pretty nasty wood chipper.
He isn't, but that's just a matter of fortunate circumstance. He would be if he ever came back.
I recommend this instructional video to help you understand the mindset: https://www.youtube.com/watch?...
Let's ask snowden about civil disobedience when he gets home. I think he said he might be running a little late.
They work for Apple. Their greed already far exceeds any morals they might have.
Answer: Nobody
This is just posturing from people who are paid far too much to do far too little.
You mean like when you voted G.W. Bush in?
All elections are essentially arguing for the lesser of a group of evils.
