Does it concern anyone else that Americans seemingly couldn't be bothered to actively protest this very same legislation with any level of ferocity here in the states? What will it take to get us upset enough to leave our collective couch, do you think?
Why anyone ever bothers predicting technological domination three years out is beyond me. Will Android even exist then? Will there be another technology in its place? Three years is a long time in the software world.
...that make me go to the EFF and ACLU websites and donate money. Isn't there any chance that "imaging" citizens in this way is a form of unconstitutional search? Or have we just implicitly waived our rights by entering the airport?
As much as I dislike the trends in super-DRM'd game distribution, you have to respect a clear, open email with no bull**** and pretty good compensation to boot.
If the sending party is grandma, or perhaps they are located in a rural part of the country, then they probably aren't capable of doing that at the moment.
Other countries have been trialing technology that allows incoming mail to be scanned and transmitted electronically to the recipient. This seems like a great area for USPS to move towards, and would help them taper off residential delivery as the number of people who still demand dead trees in their mailbox dwindles.
What's going to stop them from continuing to flood the other TLD's and just redirect them to.xxx? WhiteHouse.com pointing to WhiteHouse.xxx seems to accomplish nothing. So the concern then is, of course, that soon you won't be able to exist as a porn operation in.com, and then it's a quick jump to lightswitch-style censorship of the entire.xxx TLD.
Doesn't it seem possible that people downloading this movie helped get the word out about it, propelling it into the spotlight? I only head about the film by word of mouth and I _know_ that all those people didn't see it in theaters. Having Netflix, I later rented the DVD and enjoyed it, but there's certainly something to be said about instant distribution at low-cost (or no cost in this case). FYI, I'm one of those people that refuses to buy a dvd or cd before having experienced it at least once, and yes that means cutting corners in places, but a 500+ cd/dvd collection speaks for itself in dollars.
The TSA's policy of retroactive bans has already made flying almost unbearable. Does terrorism need not even succeed anymore to impact our day-to-day lives so much?
That statement is made without knowledge of the case. This site has a good copy of the case details. The man knowingly purchased videos from a catalogue marketing to pedophiles.
These were not home movies. These videos were of minors doing provocative things, and being directed to do so. Sounds like a porn movie, no?
Didn't you all learn in school that 1 inch = 2.54 Centimeters?
So, 100 / 2.54 = 39.37
What's really at trial here is the relation of centimeters to inches. 2.54:1
Isn't retail like survival of the fittest anyway? Stores that can't please a customer won't be shopped at, and methods of delivery that are successful will flourish.
So let them die out. They can either upgrade or disintegrate, and the choice is theirs.
Proud owner of their 520w model. It never uses the fan it has, it's just in case of emergency. The unit is amazingly quiet, and the rails are incrediably stable.
It's a bit pricey but it's a worthwhile PSU if you're aiming towards silence.

Through the movie's peace we get war among viewers. So, really it balances out to a good conversation piece. However one-sided it is.
Well, the world needs more flowers anyway. vorbis.com
No, they only go after legitimate crimes, like having music before it is released.
