As someone who got C diff, calling it problematic is like calling the Ocean wet.
Though in a related antibiotic story, I was told I got it because I was given an antibiotic for some oral surgery I had done, and it essentially killed off all the critters in my gut. Then this allowed the C diff critters (that normally would have gotten destroyed by my previous gut critters) to flourish and reproduce. I was eventually cured by taking yet another antibiotic to eliminate the C diff bastards.
Seriously not a fun several days. Some of the worst pain and unpleasantness I have been exposed to. I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy.
I am assuming it applies because its Federal Jurisdiction. or does this mean I am obligated to marry my cousin if I fly over Arkansas or whatever loony law they have in whatever stupid bumpkin state?
Jet Police: "Hey I see people through your windows!" Air Canada "There Mannequins. Don't worry about it eh?" Jet Police: "One just waved at me." Air Canada "Robot Mannequins. Its for the Bay OK?" Jet Police "These aren't the droids we are looking for. Move along."
I just started playing the first toon I made in WOW that I had abandoned a long time ago. Anyway he was 57, and I got him to 58 quickly so I went to Outland but found that my Mining was only 245 so couldn't mine there. Well I didn't want to get too into quests there and not mine and have to go back, so I went back and started running around Searing Gorge mining Thorium. I made it just over 280 before getting fed up in disgust. That was this weekend.
I was just about to comment jokingly how much of bitch it is mining Thorium Ore a la WOW, when I read you comment. I can't believe I found out about this VIA Slashdot. It seems every patch makes every WOW article and website obsolete all the time.
Sure it would. What I mean is not that Darwin's Theroy limit intelligence, only that his theory itself is limited.
That is, it is only concerned with A) Survival, and B) Reproduction. Thats it. Intelligence only really effects A. At a certain threshold of intelligence, it is no longer a significant detirmant of surival.
That is to say, once you are smart enough to not kill or endanger yourself, and increase your chances of survival, intelligence above and beyond that would not necesssarly be rewarded under the theories put forth by Darwin.
This intelligece as a survival trait is important, however you don't have to be all that smart to increase you chances to surive in our current envioment. So in essance I guess the dumbness of other animals is bringing us down!:) If for example, we were challenged by another predator that would test our intelligece, then one could argue that over time Darwin's theroy would make use smarter.
Thus all it does is give a lower threshold of moderate intelligence that maintains survivability. That is not to say that other processes don't or cannot pick up where evloution leaves off, only that it can only do so much and is ultimatly a factor of our enviroment.
Never forget that Darwin's whole theory of evolution rests on the simple principle of survival to reproduce and thus influencing change. That is if most big eared penguins are able to survive long enough to copulate and have children, then over time the trend will be to produce big eared penguins and the poor small eared penguins slowly die out.
This goes a number of different ways. Being smart may be an advantage, but like anything it is more dependent on fscking than anything else.
So you could be mind blowingly smart, and only have a few kids, or an idiot but breed like rabbits. The key would be that balance of smart enough to gain survival advantage, yet be able to breed like the wind. So perhaps Darwin's theory likely moderates intelligence to a certain extent.
I believe there was a movie based on this principle, which stared Brendon Fraser, which surely in of itself shows that god may be an ironic jerk.
As much as Abdula the Terrorist cell leader wants to have an argument with some philosophy major prior to an OP, it could be that an engineer is just plain more useful to the cause with advanced science training.
Also, I am not sure what college everyone went to, however it has been my experience that many people from many parts of the world, if they make it to University will take one of the hardcore sciences. That is to say to eventually become a Doctor or say an Engineer of some sort (or their parents will be pissed!). I am guessing that those on the doctor path may have a predisposition to be against blowing people up, but that could just be me.
As many have mentioned, it depends on the uniform.
If it was something like a golf shirt with a small monogrammed IT logo, it wouldn't bother me, as that's pretty much what I wear to work anyway (and pants).
If it was something really distinctive and cool, like custom Hockey Jersey's with teams names and logos, and my name on the back with a number, I think that would also be fun!
If however it was something I felt was lame or stupid, when then I guess I wouldn't like it very much.
As a Canadian, I respect your right to say whatever idiocy you like.
I myself have never voted for them, and agree that in many respects they are "asshats".
However, that is both the political system we live in and the government model we have been using for well over a 100 years now.
Your choices are to vote for an alternative system, which already happened, and failed, or to join the system and try to propagate change from within, or to try and mobilize the citizenry into demanding change. Otherwise quit your bitching and if you have that much of a problem you can always leave. As I have said, as flawed as you might think it might be, the current system certainly predates you.
In all likelihood, you voted for one of the other opposition parties (if you voted at all, in which case really shut up), which at any time could have toppled the current government and forced another election (unless you voted for the Green Party, in which case you have my condolences for being silly). So write your representative and encourage others to do so as well. The other parties are at this point just as responsible for keeping the Conservatives in power as the Conservatives themselves, and together they certainly have a majority, both in seats and likely in popular vote, as per the law and the system, so your arguments are groundless.
Of course to play devils advocate, they also have some of the worst environmental disasters in the world located there, are very much a developed oil and heavy industry country, and lately seem to have some corruptions issues. So they may have a bit of bias.
0.20$ a day to you isn't much, but to some jerk in India it might be. Also because of the cheap labor, their infrastructure is much cheaper to build. Perhaps some Indian will do it for 2$ vs 20$ for the US. Same could be said for their support and admin for their networks.
However I hear your pain. Companies in the US and Canada defiantly gouge their customers. The government that they elect allow them to.
A better more reasonable example would be Europe, where salaries are just as high, yet somehow they manage to do it without sodomizing their customers.
Just without the sex and booze...oh wait...

Having flown Air Canada a lot, classifying it as a "cargo flight" isn't so far from the truth... :)
LOL!
Not to mention the realization that their entire economy was based on fiction!
OMG this is funny.

Anyway I know I am off to Outlands tonight! Weee!

You can always sell it to the Managers as a team building thing... They eat that shit up.

Either way, worth a legitimate look I think.
Also don't forget that Russia also takes up an awful lot of space, and that historically have had a pretty top notch scientific community.
I wouldn't dismiss what they say out of hand.
I will just throw away every 15th smoke, that should about do it.
"Hey I can see my house from here! Oh Wai..."
Also generally speaking it is a poor country.

Well we have 2.
1) Bell (Phone/Mobile/DSL) = Evil
2) Rogers (Cable/Mobile/Cable) = Evil
Both have crappy prices and crappy customer service.
Pick one.
I have no idea why her boyfriend dumped her.... yikes!
Considering how annoying most Mac users are, I am surprised they weren't aiming at something else.
"Ya that's a Mac. It just works. It is also immune to your stupid bullets."
With the amount of people Bush screwed I would have to say all of 'em!
Badda Boom Ding... I will be here all week, try the veal!
If I could have inserted the Dramatic Gopher here I would have.
Besides, the US hasn't been constitutional nor a republic for a long time.
I hope they use that in the commercial:
"Hey now our wings don't fall off!"
Really inspires confidence... :)
Oh wait I am being sued for 9 million?
FAIL.
