...George and I enjoyed building it very much. It provided several years of entertainment. With it, we were able to work out that the baddie Osama was definitely hiding out in some place called Afghanistan. We went and kicked some Arab butt which was a lot of fun, but he escaped somehow and now we can't find him. We also found out that Osama's friend Saddam had some bad weapons. We told our buddies about it, and they wanted to kick some Arab butt too. So we told some other people that the weapons were really bad. Our pal Tony who lives across the river even told people that the weapons were all ready to use. We got Saddam really good.
Interesting that there are two bioinformatics-tailored liveCDs. Now I can BLAST into my work at a remote PC in an instant:)

Are they any film people out there who could point out which are the better books on film technology (not in the CGI sense) and techniques? I've been curious recently as to the sound technologies and techniques used, and also the mechanical engineering used.
Just use NZ coins in Australia, they're the same size and metal content and have the Queen's head on them, but they're cheaper. Machines don't know the difference, most Australians don't bother looking or care enough.
Digital copying of money can produce some pretty good fakes
I'd still like to see how someone would go about copying transparent sections of notes, other than cutting a section out and using stickytape (which I've heard has been tried) that looks obviously dodgy.
I wanted to read it first, thus I did
cat/etc/services | less
cat/etc/services | grep 3127
using up arrow and delete rather than back arrow, just a habit I'm in to. Plus, it's hard to think in the 100F+ heat:)
I thought this was kinda cool

Apparently Kodakchrome isn't giving those nice bright colors any more.
I never used Bluetooth and I don't know many people who had/have any use for it
:)
Being able to bluetooth the SARS virus sequence file onto your phone at a biology conference sure impresses the biology chicks!
How did you guys find out about my hamsters?
Here.
I want to make fun of somebody and talk about how sucky the world is
You'll just have to wait for the next SCO story then. Patience is a virtue. So is agreeing to abide by the GPL.

Right... that's why you posted anonymously.

-1, stating the bloody obvious!
We may even resort to scanning change if need be.

That's where TCP steps in, to guarantee reliable transmission over IP :)
Any idea what the environmental impact is from these things?
What's that you say? I can't hear you!

Well it wasn't enforcement of voting, just telling someone off for encouraging breaking of the law. Austlii is a good resource though :)
Actually, voting is compulsory. It is simply unenforceable.
Hence not compulsory in practise! You can't just decide not to vote without breaking the law.
Australians living overseas can decide either to vote or not to vote, and they don't face penalties when they return.
It's not compulsory to vote, only to turn up if you're on the electoral roll. Furthermore, it's possible to get off the roll!
Australia doesn't actually have freedoms for citizens as defined in it's constitution.
Except for the right to vote, and the implied freedom of political speech.
Don't worry, there's always Idol. Which just goes to prove, it's not only Christians who think false idols are bad.
Or billionaires with SCO IP for that matter ;)
