All major driving schools and driving experts are now recommending the new method of setting your mirrors. This is not some fringe idea. Chances are, if the schools in your area are teaching sometime different you either don't have a clue what they're actually teaching or you live in some backwoods county.
> Liquid nitrogen is diamagnetic, meaning it is slightly affected by magnetic fields. In other words, the coolant could possibly conduct enough electricity to cause damage the hardware.
This is not true. That it is diamagnetic means it slightly repels magnetic fields. This has no impact on its electrical conductivity.
...I wonder how many people will die testing their vehicles? Rocket fuel, (over)enthusiastic amateurs, not much official oversight. Sounds dangerous!
Rocket fuel, (PowerPoint-slide obsessed) professionals, and a whole NASA-load of official oversight. Experimentally verified as dangerous.
Space travel is dangerous. We know this to be so, and we do it anyway. The astronauts knew the risks before they got into that shuttle. THat isn't to say the situation can't be improved, but the mere fact that space travel is dangerous is known and has not deterred us in the past.
However, in practice that does not work, because in order to be neutral, judges and politicians would have to belong to neither party involved. The current president has made it quite clear that he's a Christian, and I think most people can tell he's not a scientist.
Democrats had a "try". Ever heard of a guy named Clinton? He led 8 of the most prosperous years this country has ever seen. So successful, in fact, that his vice president was voted for by a majority of the population.
All that stuff about Rolexes sold by discounters being fake is just propaganda?
I KNEW the $20 Rolex is bought from the guy on the street corner was just a REALLY good deal.
The Earth and Moon (and Sun, etc) are perfectly spherical because beyond a certain "critical mass" an object's gravity is strong enough to ensure that all points of its surface are equidistant from the center.
In other words, beyond a certain mass an object's gravity forces it into the most gravitationally stable shape, a sphere.
The problem is, the Dune series is actually much too long to easily put into movies. In order to make them into movie form, a lot would need to be cut out. The Sci Fi Network made what I consider to be a very good set of 2 miniseries that told the story of the first three books, but each came in at something like 6 hours total. That's totally unacceptable for a movie, and it's unlikely they would be able to hold the viewer's interest it each book were split into two or three movies.
Minds, perhaps, but I still doubt the original poster's inference that the economy will collapse or something terrible if we don't continue to produce more drones to pay taxes to the government.
they aren't producing a new generation of tax payers
That's the first time I've ever heard anyone glorify overpopulation.
Do we really need to become another India or China? Less population is better, as long as it doesn't infringe on people's civil rights, and sometimes even then. Certainly there is a lower limit on how big a useful population can be, but I am certain that we are far above that lower limit.
Are we sure that this is going to be a "tax" on everybody's connection? It sounded to me like the ISPs would be forced to tally up the songs you download and pay only the royalties for that song. The issue was that those costs would be passed on to the user, and the software for checking for song downloads would slow down the connection.
Just FYI, a normal licence is class 3 non-commercial. Truck drivers jsut get a commerical license

I thought Ashcroft already eliminated the right to speak freely? Oh, nevermind, this is a dupe. Sorry.

My favorite was that Y2K was going to be the end of civilization as we knew it, causing a major collapse in infrastructure. Whoops.
