No, seriously, I think that we have the power of putting our money where our mouth is. Here in Spain five years ago pay TV had almost no ads. Now it is getting quite close the free channels, you can even see competing schedules with Desperate Housewives between "Fox" and "Cuatro" stations, the latter being a free channel.
What execs are not realizing is their behaviour (plus the available contents on the Internet) are putting them on the dole: Why would anyone be paying for something they can get for free in a more convenient way? (Downloaded shows use to have the ads removed).
People do not like to be force-fed with ads. Sorry it's a fact. Maybe there is not a market for so many ads on TV. Time to move on.
Till know aound 50 people worldwide had died of bird flu. I guess more people die being stroke by a lightning. But the worst thing is that nobody knows whether Tamiflu will cure bird flu or not.
Meanwhile health authorities all over the wold had been doing massive buys of that medicine... sounds weird.
I, for one, start a business of selling a new drug that is suppossed to protect you against being struck by a lightning. I'm already taking orders. Anyone?
Pivot tables allow you to cross count units withing categories.
Imagine you hava a table of stock, you have shoes. Shoes have size number and model id. A pivot table can easily tell you the number of shoes of each size of each model. Of course you can get the same values out of simple SQL query (i.e. select count(*),model,size from shoes group by model,size)
The difference is the pivot table will look like a double entry table instead of the long listing the query above might provide.
I'm not sure I know enoguh to full a book about this.
